Re: watch power and politics today
Not a bad representation of the issue...Good job! It's a decent journalist that will challenge any interviewee with a case such as the one Gilles presents. It's not the job of any journalist to accept at face value, any claim. I think that this one (CBC) makes sure that the story has teeth and cred...

Re: A few minutes of your time
7500+ hours, B737 rating (as well as another jet type rating), have flown 3 airliners + numerous smaller ones, adequate turbine PIC time, airline time, Bachelors degree, bilingual, have been applying to CanJet and Sunwing since 2010 and have not even been invited to an interview. Headed back to Afg...

Re: watch power and politics today
I just had a chance to watch the show. Here are a few key points I picked up on: Sunwing did use the accelerated program and thus are not obliged to defend why they did not hire Canadians. I know that's the policy but shouldn't they have to justify their actions? I'm shocked that they only received...

Re: A few minutes of your time
Here is the question they want to know from you as a supposedly qualified pilot. After they invest all this money in you, will you leave for another company or be willing to work for them for several years with layoffs for the first three summers. Be honest in your answer.
First off...

Re: A few minutes of your time
I know some of you are quite critical of Gilles and what he is doing. I'm sure those who are critical of him are also looking to the recent announcement from AT and saying your backyard isn't clean so why pick on Sunwing and Canjet. Maybe those who are so critical of Gilles are all captains with en...

Re: Porter and the CSeries
I don't know, they've built a growing customer base; this seems like a logical next step and growth.
Aside from that it will be great to see the first airline in Canada to bring on the new C series which I believe will be proven to be a very competitive a/c.

COME ON GUYS!!! Your giving me a headache! Re: Cell Phone
I was just in Malaysia, I bought a new plain Samsung phone, a sim card and a month's prepaid use for $30. It cost 27 ringgits for 10 minutes calling - that's (wait for it) 9 cents for 10 minutes talking. Nothing like that in Canada. xsbank, yeah the prepaid sim packages here can be really cheap but...

I've been addicted to Diet Coke for 25 plus years, been flying for twenty, thats all I drink. So far thankfully it has not affected my abilities or my career in any way. Is it addictive? Absolutely!!!! 100% addictive stay away from the shit! Its nasty and I am certain its designed to be that way. I'...

DIFFERENT CONTINENTS – DIFFERENT TYPES OF AIRCRAFT
I got this article from Baltic Aviation and found it interesting enough to share, I didn't find some of the numbers too shocking. I had to admit I fall into the 80%, like many I went with aircraft that I could get the job on, likely many of us did the same. It would have been nice to say that I plan...

Tim Scurr
I saw that Tim Scurr the former Chief Pilot of Corporate Express Airlines passed away at the end of February 2013. I couldn't find any details other than a posting on FB from his daughter about his passing. Does anyone have any details? I thinks its pretty well known that Tim lead a fairly hard life...

Re: aspiring pilot who wants to work in China
I am just wondering if anyone can tell me if it is difficult to find entry level pilot jobs in China as a Canadian citizen. I will be attending Siast College to obtain my CPL this December. My wife is Chinese and we want to live in China. Or is there anywhere else in the world anyone knows of that ...
