A pa-31-310 with 11 people on board moving to get ready to jump, it's not so pretty.

Re: Squak Codes
I remember this summer calling Montreal flight planning and asking for my daily code, And again for the 8th day in a row I got a code starting with 45xx So I asked the lady why, and she told me most Vfr assigned codes start with 4. Locally I was lucky enough to be able to go up in Gatineau Fss often...

FOD_vacuum,
I m actually going right seat on a king Air A100

Re: Vfr 702 to ifr 703 move
Thanks Dan, and thanks guys. The multi crew environment is what I am looking forward the most. When I started 4 seasons ago, I used to say: Multi crew? Auto pilot? Who needs that stuff, gotta fly the plane! 3000 landings later, well yes landing a Navajo and a caravan in 500 feet or less if cool, but...

Vfr 702 to ifr 703 move
Greetings all, So time has come after working for 3.5 summer seasons as a Vfr paradrop pilot , to move into the IFR 703 world , and the news is exiting and refreshing, yet comes to my mind it must be quite a challenge I assume. Going from full hands on flying, up and downs to a more controlled crew ...

Re: Attempting the INRAT with no formal groundschool
The inrat just like the iatra can easily be accomplished within 7 days worth of studying, that is if you keep your self always up to date and don't let complecency of : I got my license now I don't need to review kick in. Stay sharp, get proper rest, and one week you will be ready to write it. Cheer...

Re: C-208B start temp
Well, Let's just say: If the engineer is reading this tread and I m sure he knows my now former boss, he wouldn't be so pissed off , he ll be like: it's just him.... I resigned from this position , and moving onto a 703 ifr ops. Hopefully they get it fixed before it gets worse, but it's out of my po...

Re: Paradrop Navajo crash in Poland July 05
Alright so , about the over weight: You can go with 10 jumpers plus pilot for a total of 11 using standard weights less the carry on. If you have the VGs stc that will increase your MTOW to 6840lbs. So here what I think it happened, After rotation, once he or she retracted the gear realized that he ...

Re: Paradrop Navajo crash in Poland July 05
Normally you would reduce to 2400 rpm 36.5 inches on narrow case or 39.5inches on wide case engines( tho most for paradrop would use 36.5) Maybe he slammed everything forward once he realized he couldn't climb out? Training for skydivers involves 20 mins wind tunnel and 10 jumps. It's not as intense...

Re: C-208B start temp
You see , the dirty compressor part does to a bit make sense.
We do a compressor wash every 100 hours inspection and I did have 20 degrees colder starts after the wash.
The battery and itt calibration for sure I can take off the list as well as the bleed air leak.

Re: C-208B start temp
Revr, Following a maintenance check, They kind of laughed when we said we were worried of a 740 degree start. Bleed air had no leaks, and the gen was found serviceable. This Thursday ( first day from the maintenance) I got 7 starts at 720 on gpu, and it was above 28 degrees out in the afternoon. Tho...

Re: Paradrop Navajo crash in Poland July 05
Hey pilotdar, When did you fly jumpers last? Now we have a manifest software that on top of telling you the list of people , it gives you your weight, fuel, and center of gravity. Now they should all sit in order as manifested , in order for the weight and balance to be 110% correct. Sometimes one m...

Paradrop Navajo crash in Poland July 05
http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/jul/05/poland-parachutists-skydiving-crash-eleven-dead See the attached news link. I have over 1000 drops in a Navajo, and I m wondering what the hell went thru the pilot s mind taking up 12 people. We had our certified with 11 including pilot and provided weigh...

I tought if the gpu that could have lost power, so I used the gpu at the FBO here in Gatineau that is directly powered by the grid, and got maybe 5-10 degrees colder starts. As part of my walk around I take my iPhone on video mode with the light on and put it in the intake and video the inside to se...

Re: C-208B start temp
Easy now. As previously stated this aircraft is going I this week , and the beginning of the thread was a simple Question on weather or not a 300a S/G would develop better starts. Now we all started talking about other possibilities and it's actually quite good to know all the different causes that ...
