linecrew, It isn't designed for classifying accidents, but rather incidents. Such as someone flying through restricted airspace, or flying through controlled airspace without ever contacting ATC. In Canada we too publish accident reports for the public, but the CADORS is for companies to check up on...

ndb, you just don't get it do you? If your airmanship is this bad, I really do hope you're not a pilot. I'd be afraid to learn of all your bad habits. You must realize that safety for yourself and others goes beyond just following the CARs. TC tried to make the CARs so they can be open to all sorts ...

I would leave the avatar's off. They make the site look messy, distract the reader, and I've seen many obscene ones. I love obsceity, but I realize this isn't the place for it. Also the point about loading time for those on dialup is a good one.

Cat driver, You seem to get "agitated" quite easy. If reading his posts makes you upset then don't bother reading them and keep your smart ass comments to yourself. ndb, perhaps you missed the Airmanship class when you got your pilot's licence, if you have one. Regardless of what the regs say, its always a good idea to practise good airmanship. If turning on a transponder installed in your aircraft makes you safer, as well as those around you, why not turn it o...

I am appalled at the ignorance that is evident in this discussion. I certainly hope that anyone who thinks that having a working transponder and does not turn it on is not a licenced pilot. And if you are of the mind set that stealthing to avoid detection is the way to go I would not want to be in ...

I think their intent was so that they could accomodate with a wide range of landscapes that Canadians fly over. But in terms of coomerical operators, it would be in their SOPs, which have to be approved by TC. So the best thing to do when writing your SOPs is to be as specific as possible and follow...

Just from a reverse point of view, especially in today's industry, what happens if the company cute you, or worse goes under. Whose left holding the bag in a training bond?

First of all your post is what got many words banned in the last forum, but at least you didn't mention the company. If people want to know which compnay it is, they can PM you and ask. Ignoring your horrible grammar and derogotory comments, it sounds like you are a victim, if I understand correctly...

My favorite calls to hear when I'm VFR is "This is XXX currently 86.4 miles East of Montreal." That's really useful to me with my VNC that has Montreal on another fold.

I haven't read through all the posts, just too long. But back to the original question, I think it really depends on your situation. You can't answer it as either one or the other is better. If I'm starting a family, I would want a good schedule and money, and I still have a pretty sweet job, with t...

I agree with N8, I wasn't aware of any public access. For example our Ops Manager is the only one with access to determine incidents with only our own aircraft. From what I understood, its purpose was purely to inform Managers of companies as to what is happening to its aircraft. For example we rent...

Sounds quite similar to what CAAP is supposed to be about. But I haven't really heard of ATAC actually doing anything. The only good I've seen is their directory of flight schools for perspective students to peruse.

I was under the impression the SPP's expiry was the same as the current medical the student has. That would make sense for the glider, which lasts for 5 years, PPL/RPP 5 years if under 40, 2 years over 40. That way when the student obtaines a new medical once the last expired, he must bring in his n...
