Re: iPad Mini 4 and ForeFlight
As an FYI, best buy was (is?) blowing out the 9.7 inch ipad pro from last year. Saving from original is like $300 off.

Paper maps vs EFB/GPS for VFR
Just curious how many of you are still using paper VNC/VTA or a GPS and/or IPAD for VFR flights.
Advantages for both, but just curious.

Re: Aircraft Rentals in the Lower Mainland
If you are looking to impress, you can't go wrong with renting out of Squamish at Glacier Air. Or just book a tour with Sea to Sky Air and ask if they will let you fly left seat since you are licensed. Ask for a "you fly". Flying up at squamish and the area is not like flying in the lower mainland.

TBO 2000?
Hi there, I'm looking at getting a plane, and one i came across looks pretty good. There is 1800 hours on the 2000 TBO (cessna 172) I've been told that the oil consumption is very low and there is no metal to be seen or found. What is truly a typical TBO for a 172 engine, if it has been maintained p...

Re: Accident in North Vancouver
I think he used a dipstick for a 172 with Long Range tanks (52 gal) vs. one for Short Range (42 gal). If he used a LR dipstick in a SR tank and saw 42 gal (total) at YNJ, that would be consistent with his statement that he had 5h15min of fuel when he left YNJ (assuming 8 gal/hr burn rate). It does ...

Re: TC to FAA Conversion
when I get my PPL, i just want FAA PPL so i can rent planes when I travel. I hear it's simple, but still need a medical.
there are FAA cert docs here in canada, so that makes it easy.

Clearance after General Anesthetic
Hi,
Im having a "procedure" done this week that requires me to be under general for about 10-15 minutes.
Do I have to get clearance from the dr performing the procedure or a CME to fly as a PPL student. I want to see if i can get up 24 hours later for a lesson.
