Re: Equipment Bid

OK, an honest question here....... If one were to get lucky and land RP on a heavy, would it be justifiable to say that unless a mass retirement at the top occurs, you are likely to be "stuck" (sorry, best word) as RP for 4 years, or longer? I, personally, would prefer going to RP position. Travel,...

Re: First Year Air Canada Pay

It's just over $50.00 an hour 50.27 if I recall correctly. Depends if you go 320/EMB/RP. I averaged 85 hours on reserve on the 320 taking most flights where some people turned them down and flew out my month early. This month I held a block and got 74ish hours (prior to any block growth, it usually...

Re: Recent Experience

Don't worry about specifics, just apply. There is such a massive range, but there are plenty of people without MPIC or 12.5 time getting hired. Pretty sure there's been some pilatus guys below 2500tt.

Re: 777RP question

I'm not on the triple, but looking at the pairings it wouldn't work. GRU is the shortest pairing and it's over 20h. No way to do back to back trips and meet CARS. If you asked on our forum I bet there's a 777RP that would be able to give detailed info. If you are commuting from the middle of the cou...

Re: LCC Monthly Schedule

Interesting point. Yes, if force reduced to Rouge, one would be pay "grandfathered". There is no guarantee one would be force reduced. Don't forget airplane-for-airplane. The company still has to crew the new 777s and 787s. 10 Airframes by the end of 2013 32 Airframes by the end of 2014 That's alot...

Do it all the time, Canada and abroad. You even get a crew discount in most places.

Re: LCC Monthly Schedule

Hi Guys, trying to get an idea on what the monthly schedule will be like at the LCC. So far I understand "fair share" bidding process with 16 days maximum worked per month and no reserve. Has there been any new info? If you were a new hire commuting to YYZ would this be the best position to try for...

Re: Some Questions

I'll answer your questions thinking about mainline as we don't know exactly what the Low Cost conditions will be. 1- Mainline year 1 salary is currently 50.27 per hour. As a new hire, you often start on reserve and the minimum monthly guaranteed hours change every month but the absolute minimum is ...

Re: Air Canada rouge is hiring!

So even though Rouge Pilots will be on the ACPA list, it won't be through the mainline application process but through someone at Air Canada Vacations?

e: maybe this is for non pilots only and I am misunderstanding?

Re: YVR for New Hires

Any word on if some of the LCC will be YVR based in the future? The cynic in me sees them keeping a single LCC base. I believe the new forced contract has deadhead only days at the LCC as zero credit, only counting towards the maximum calendar days at work. this lets you run something like a Mexica...

Not to say that there won't be some ex-AC guys filling some of those spots, but 40 seems outlandish. I haven't heard any rumors approaching that number at all.

Re: Air Canada Interviews

I feel that moving to the LCC is a very risky move with the current contract language, as Fanblade says you are technically not an Air Canada employee when working there, you are just an ACPA pilot. The potential positives are that your schedule/vacation will not be seniority driven, upgrades/positi...

Offhand it's a 24month freeze if you bid into the LCC, then there are also all the associated category bidding issues that started with this contract.

L74.20.01.01 is the applicable reference, I don't think section 12 applies as LCC rates are not included there.

I can confirm this, Page 38 or the Final Appendix Page of the Company Webcast, or LOU 74 I believe.
