Re: Orca
So if we HAD to compare out of the three Navajo operators in the mainland/island area. Orca, KD and Island Express which one would you say would be best to spend some time at ? I realize we are looking at different shades of grey here but let's give it a shot for the sake of argument and good entert...

Re: Creewest/Northern skies air service.
You've obviously never been to YXL! It is a town that is what you make of it. Jason is a very nice guy (I think he's backing this operation). It's been a few years since I talked to him, but he always ran a first class operation! Haha you're almost right cndpilot77... Been there a couple of times t...

Re: Creewest/Northern skies air service.
I have no idea about the company but Sioux Lookout isn't bad. It has your typical northern town social issues but generally the people are very nice, there is a real grocery store, Tim Hortons, Subway, etc. Dryden is an hour and a half drive away and Kenora is 3 hours if you need to escape to somew...

FO on the King air is 32K a year to start. You need 500TT and your AA's written or that other test that I cannot remember the name of now hahaha. Typically took 8-12 months to make capt on the HO (Need 1000 TT for single pilot IFR) King Air Medevac Schedule 12 days on 12 days off. Bases are The pas...

Missinippi Airways based in CJR3 operates a fleet of Navajo Chieftains and King Air 200s servicing CZFG (Pukatawagan) They also have a base in Norway house (Currently King Air) Good machines, decent pay, maintenance was always well looked after. Lots of upward movement. Thanks for your reply x15. I...

Re: Anyone Knows?
Brantford Flight Centre paid their instructors a base salary when I did my cpl there 4 years ago.
I believe Seneca, Sault and Confederation pay their instructors a salary too.

You've talked to Superior out of YRL, I assume? The new ownership has really helped things, so I have heard. Not yet but I will definitely send them a resume today, thanks! My understanding is that a lot of the operators in that region don't hire this time of the year due to the winter road season.

I would consider that but I would rather build some more mpic and pic time first.AWOS wrote:I don't know why you wouldn't check out some King Air FO positions while you're at it. Lots of companies have Navajos but not too many of them fly as much these days.

Re: Company suggestion for low timer
Perimeter has some of the longest ramp times around these days. Start at a place with Navajos, Caravans, King Airs, etc. and avoid ramp traps like Perimeter, West Wind, etc.. How did you come up with that conclusion with perimeter? Do you know someone who works there? I was going to ask him the sam...

Re: Company suggestion for low timer
Your best bet would be Perimeter... 12-16 on the ground in Winnipeg or Thompson --> First Officer for 16 months to 2 years-->captain for a year or 2 then off to the airlines you go if that's your thing. Best gig you can get if you want stability while waiting for that airlines job.
Good luck!
