Re: How long until you hear back from AC?
Training is at max capacity. I get displaced once every pairing because of training (which I'm more than ok with :D). The 'rumblings' of dropping the ATPL requirement are just that. A lot of people say they can see it, I personally don't. Given the problems in additional training requirements and u...

Re: How long until you hear back from AC?
No. I would apply the day you hit the minimum requirements listed on their employment site. I just wouldn't expect to get hired at the minimum. Total experience is an issue right now. AC is reactive and right now they are reacting to Transport's issues with their training record. I understand that ...

I’ve been struggling with understanding “why” the company agreed to this mediation piece. It seemed like things were going as per their playbook and they were getting what they wanted, but then agreed to mediation… why? The only thing I can think of is they played their hand too aggressively and to...

Re: Flair Suspending Growth Plans amid Delivery Delays and Debt
I find the loan figures interesting. 20 planes. 189 seats. Four sectors each per day (based on flight radar and is VERY generous). = 15,120 seats / day = 453,600 / month. So $15 of each ticket sold goes to paying lease payments alone. Not including the other 300 million in debt. Yes I know this isn...

Oh well. Foreign students have had it good so far, the gravy train is finally over. Gravy train? According to StatsCan (Link in article https://www.educanada.ca/programs-programmes/education_cost-cout_education.aspx?lang=eng) it costs on average $36,100/year for an international student to study an...

There are a lot of pilots on flat pay. Not hard to make more money than that doing something else (Uber, etc...) during a strike or lockout. It is hard to save enough in preparation for the strike on flat pay though. They'll be fine. Besides, guys on year 1 pay will actually be getting a raise on A...

Just playing devils advocate here, but you've only got interviews at those places. You may only get an offer at one of them, you might have further considerations if that turns out to be the case.

Get your instructor rating and go to the airline asap. 1500 hr instructors are getting hired at westjet, transat, flair and other airlines. Airlines are fun, you get paid more, work less, and get travel benefits. You could use those to go explore the north on your many days off. Nope. I have no des...

Lots and lots of guys still on probation too that aren’t wearing the new lanyards. That being said, the title and original post reek of someone trying to troll. Do you really believe AC would fire a new hire for wearing an ALPA lanyard? The red one? Yep. The blue one? No. Don’t underestimate the le...

Atis for runway conditions should be on a seperate local vhf freq. in busy terminal airspace freq. Im sure many would agree. By the time ya all get to the end of an atis message in a busy terminal space . Even if yur 100miles from the approach , the atis with runway conditions is far toooo fkn long...
