Hmmm it’s a long shot with only King Air time. I’d suggest going out and buying yourself a Dash-8 typerating. If you have the cash book an RJ sim for better chances. Checkout CAE or Flightsafety.

Re: Navcanada discontinuing approaches at under-serviced airports
Interesting. I can see why they don’t want the old NDB approach but what’s the actual cost of upkeep for a GPS approach. The biggest thing I can see this effecting is MEDEVAC operations. Atikokan is 2 hours from Thunder Bay and 1.5 from the Fort. I have family that have had to be MEDEVAC’d in the pa...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
Of the last few months when PIT courses were running how many RP spots were offered? Sounds like a good 75% of the new hires were going narrowbody FO. Just curious as it sounds like the RP spots are becoming more sought after at least for commuters.

Got a call last week to come in and do an interview. I'm just curious what to expect on the technical and cognitive test so I can start preparing.

I know first hand that OTS pilots have been interviewing the last few days. The Jazz slowdown has nothing to do with AC and are not interconnected as flow is not 100%.

Re: Don't clap too early after landing
People who clap after a landing are mouth-breathers. It seems to me that your opinion denigrating people who are pleased with the flight crew's performance and express same through a universally accepted method of showing it says much more about you than them. You're entitled to your opinion, but I...

That would make sense. I guess I just assumed they all wanted to go to AC.goingnowherefast wrote: ↑Tue Mar 13, 2018 6:52 pm Georgian FOs? By the time the bond is up, they should be in that ballpark.

Where’s Cargojet been picking new hires up from? Their requirements are asking for 3000TT and 1000 transport category jet. Genuinely curious.

Good Luck! I know King Air Capts. with half that time making literally double that 47K! Maybe they didn't get the memo about the shortage of qualified pilots?

Re: The solution to pilot shortage?
Full automation is going to happen, no question about it. I think it's foolish for us pilots to deny it. We don't want to get caught like Sears or Blockbuster being fine with the status quo. That being said, I feel the trucking, train and shipping industry will come first and with what is learned th...
