It must have a way of sensing how many ads get blocked then reassigning those to the rest of us.

Re: Who should pay for the extra seat for large passengers?

I’m not morbidly obese but I’m very tall and in a cheap airline seat I often find the pitch is almost exactly the length of my thigh bone so I ‘spill over’ the other way. Sometimes I worry that the person in front of me might feel my knee against their seat and I don’t want to be a bother to anyone...

Re: The Sealand RED V12 Diesel Beaver flies!

It's always been my understanding that although a diesel engine could burn Jet-A, it wouldn't do well in the long run as diesel fuel had lubricating properties for a diesel engines piston rings etc. that Jet-A does not have. I believe automotive diesels rely on the lubricity of their fuels to keep ...

Re: Here we go

What benefit would that be to the pilots? Don't pilots already get first bid for the JS? Yes, however on my flights the jumpseat is available for pilots Only. The FAs fought hard against the B1s. I'm sorry, but that's a terrible attitude to have. I have no idea about B1's, C1's, etc., but you're ab...

Re: Here we go

B1s cost the company nothing (okay, that extra 80 kilos has an effect on fuel burn, I guess) so taking them away is just a dramatic statement. Not to mention, your 80 Kgs affect on fuel burn is the same, B1, C1, C2, etc. Right, so literally no cost to the company. It was a gesture meant solely to h...

Re: Here we go

As a father of young kids who never travels I never even used the B1s so couldn't care less that they are gone. I was surprised there was such a heated debate over them - it's not like they are guaranteed seats. As one who regularly sees loads above 100% I also couldn’t care less that they’re gone....

Isn’t that strike pay comparable to flat pay? Who’d have thought carrying a sign would be competitive with flying a transport category jet? Gets you home every night, too.

You said it yourself: they’re unhappy about it but they’re still here. From a cold, unfeeling bean counter perspective that’s perfect.

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

Yes however need a strong resume(lots of points) and help. What’s the point system? Or how many points you need to pass? It’s generally accepted that they ‘score’ your resume based on traits that they think are desirable. I imagine there will be little more than speculation on the forum but it appe...

If it’s amateur built talk to the folks at MD-RA. They have a process. If it’s to be registered as a basic ultralight trailer it across as ‘parts’ then assemble here and register.

Dealing with resumes. I wouldn’t let anyone else do it for fear of missing out on a good candidate but wow was it ever a lot of work. Change one word on Pilot Career Centre and suddenly hundreds of applications pour in from all over the world. The best were the Russian ones. Europe in general has a ...

This is where you have to start in order to raise everyone up. Look at what doing the opposite has done to Canadian aviation over the last 20 years.
