Re: Timing the cycle

Absolutely, "accountant" is just shilling. I only post, because I don't want a single one of our brothers and sisters and to fall prey to the uncertainty and lies they seek to insert. We're in it together to succeed, we all need to hear it and feel it on the line and even in anonymous backwaters lik...

Re: Timing the cycle

We're worth what the labour market demands. No different than fuel, airport slot prices, etc. Currently that market demands United wages. The Us market demands that. The Canadian doesn’t. If you can get paid United wages why aren’t you working for them? You know the answer. United pilots get paid w...

Re: Pilots that crash don’t get raises

My god you sound like whiney prick. I’m all onboard getting rid of the flat pay and increased wages, but sitting there with the crying “My flight I do what I want” attitude is just embarrassing. Are you 12? Not everyone wants to talk about your issues or opinion. Send me your schedule so I can avoi...

Re: What's the over and under pilots can focus on contract negotiations

You didn't just ask for scope rumors, you also added inaccurate commentary: All it was for were some 50 seat RJs, operated by a non-Jazz carrier to provide some transborder lift. That was not the dealbreaker for the membership at the time, I bet they hardly cared about that. 50 -76 seat aircraft are...

Re: What's the over and under pilots can focus on contract negotiations

I not asking what the MEC’s (or the pilot group’s) stance on it is. I’m wondering if the company has tabled anything regarding scope. By the way, the scope let in the failed MOA was not the reason it failed. All it was for were some 50 seat RJs, operated by a non-Jazz carrier to provide some transb...

Re: Pilots that crash don’t get raises

Those are changes required as well. If pilots are repeatedly unable to eat or lack of sleep, this should be address with management & MEC. Hold your MEC to task with the improvements you want. If there're problem legs the airline can modify schedules to allow crew more time to eat or sleep, or divi...

Re: Pilots that crash don’t get raises

Lots of union & pay talk going on between pilots None of us want to be a passenger with crew that enter wrong FMS data while discussing a collective agreement Focus on the aircraft while on duty There’s time to talk MEC updates when waiting for crew transport or at the hotels You can even volunteer...

Re: “I compete in Canada, so I need to be competitive in Canada,” - Mike Rosseau

US Legacy Airlines have more applicants, and higher quality applicants than there are ATPs in this country. They don't need to attract applicants. US Pilots have achieved what they have because they have demanded their worth and won't accept anything less. They recognize that their unity is what it ...

What a fooking coont.

Can't wait to get locked out and take some time off. You couldn't legislate me back even at double time. I can't wait to take the time off and fook Rousseau, what an out of touch prikk! Fook him.

Re: Is Jazz upgrading new hires with little to no type experience?

"Upgrading with little to no type experience" Newsflash. Stories like that happen every month at this country's airlines and it's been happening for 85 years. Same goes south of the border at the largest airline market in the world. I upgraded into a type I had ZERO time on at this country's largest...

Re: Transition from the bush to an airline - I could really use some advice

He's not competitive AC or WJ, but he absolutely is top of the heap everywhere else with ATPLs written. Don't sell yourself short. I think you have some good picks to make out there. Don't go get right seat on a Beech or something, I'd go to a 705 airline, work hard, and plan for a fast upgrade, Cap...

Re: Transition from the bush to an airline - I could really use some advice

Dear Avcanada I am a ~1500 hour pilot on my 4th season of northern bush flying and I am considering moving into the 705 world. As much as I love the bush, I think that I'll regret it if I don't take advantage of the current hiring boom everyone is talking about these days and try to get my foot in ...

From CEO of Air France / KLM group to Westjet? I don't think so...

WJ is a fine airline but that's a different league I think.

Re: New CA Expectation

233%

Rousseau and his management team are hacks.

Now we give up market share and profitability because they are completely disconnected from reality and have not responded to anything happening. How long will the BOD allow this charade to continue? AC should have promoted Smith.

Never let a good crisis go to waste... your "existential threat" = burning platform It's the same predictable playbook from these guys. And AC needs to send these routes / shrink you mention to 220 & 319s not because of anything you do or don't do, they are going because there is demand for the larg...

Re: Negotiations

If you say so... Nowhere does AC replace that lift with the exception of the reality of upgauging beck to mainline due to demand and infrastructure limitations. Jazz was and still is the cheapest and best option for CPA lift, they didn't consolidate everything there (SKV, GGN) just to shut Jazz down...
