Re: Drunk passengers implicated in B.C. plane crash
FYI there's lots of float pilots that don't wear shoulder straps for safety reasons. The shoulder strap can entangle you while exiting the aircraft during docking causing horrible falls that can cause very serious injuries at a very inopportune time when the aircraft is being pushed by a combination...

I saw someone lose their finger due to a ring and jumping a chain link fence once. They didn't even feel it.

Re: Flying floats from Thompson Okanagan to Eastern Manitoba
Idk what the interior of that plane looks like, but if you can take out the passenger seat(s) and in their place herc strap down some jerri cans to the seat rails, that might work for you. Try and keep that weight forward though, as it sounds like there isn't much room for error with regards to payl...

Re: ATAC Blacklist?
Why don't we make our own blacklist of bad companies on the internet; jerks that pressure you to flying in bad weather, flying overweight, fixing duty days and duty times, withholding pay, bad bonds (1 way contracts), manipulating flight dispatch, and then attempt to punish you when you don't comply...

Re: The Martin Mars is coming to nothern Alberta
BTW, the 215's and the Mars should have tuned up the radio to 126.7 and asked the local float pilots where the good spots are to scoop from, and the depth of the local lakes. Probably would have saved alot of time/money. They could have even asked the locals in Fort Chip about the deep spots at that...

Re: The Martin Mars is coming to nothern Alberta
The DC 10 is flying out of Cold Lake and the Mars is scooping out of Gregoire Lake after they scooped up a load of mud on Lake Athabasca so it's turn around times are just over 1 hour. The 4 215's (3 piston and 1 T)are working the same area as the Mars but the turn around times are 3 minutes off Ri...

Re: Off-strip Flying
Nutbutter, that in my opinion is a very good analysis of offstrip, onstrip and bushflying. But it does get a whole lot more offstrip... I just don't have a scanner to get my pictures on here and surprised that some of the cub guys haven't jumped in here with some photos. The first trip in is always...
