That would be a disgusting turn of events. I don’t think even the AC group is cow towed enough for that to happen.

Re: 436 Vacancies Until Summer 2019

Problem at the LCC is many won't wait for draft and go to work for 1.5x pay only, scooping your chance at 2.5x... and the awards aren't very transparent. OT at mainline pays the 1.5x if you are working a full block, + another .5 if you're over 85 hours, so mostly at double time... FWIW. I don't see...

Probably no different than it’s been since the days of People Express and Southwest Airlines. Your options are the same. Pay more money and move up in surroundings. But. Often the biggest douchebags sit in First Class. Not sure how many times you've sat in J but that statement is completely false i...

Re: WestJet pilots to fly Swoop aircraft

How so? Nobody gave you the right to decide who flies jump - there's a policy in place that decides who and in what order. There is a policy. Then there is the Captains decision. Which is final, regardless of policy. The Captains decision isn't to hand pick who flies jump. It's follow the policy or...

Re: WestJet pilots to fly Swoop aircraft

That's a steaming pile of bullshit. How so? Personally, a red pass is required for safety. Anyone can get a job at wj, get their wj id day 1 and hop in a jumpseat. If I can’t show my family where I work, I’m not showing a stranger. How so? Nobody gave you the right to decide who flies jump - there'...

Lots, when you want to relax and the weather is bad, little, when you’re trying to get those hours up .
It’s terrifying that pilots of a Q400 are trying to build time.

Re: WestJet pilots to fly Swoop aircraft

If you worked at WJ would you not have your resume on file with AC? I mean, your BOD were legit ready to shut down the company over a squabble with a labour group. Think about it. CB was so butthurt that the pilots unionized he wanted to shut the doors and end everything. A man child in every way. I...

"still moaning" Hardly... I just want to see up and coming guys realize the opportunity available and not sell themselves short - moving to camp for $2K a month might be an adventure, but it's a job, and no other profession would pay that to go live in such a situation... why pilots? The fact that ...

Re: Gloom & Doom Q2 outlook...are you kidding?

I’m wondering if tbaylx has received his pink slip yet, it’s such a shame that such a standup guy has to find a new job, maybe a legal name change will at least get you off the blacklist. I would leave your short stint at swoop off your resume though. You keep implying that swoop pilots have lost t...

Re: WestJet pilots to fly Swoop aircraft

I’m not sure anyone here understands what went on. Lol. It’s not a B scale. It’s one set of working conditions. If it’s a B scale at Swoop it’ll be a B scale at Mainline. i.e if it moves to reserve or 18 days worked, it’ll be the same at both WJ and Swoop. If the WJ pilot group was willing to accept...

Re: WJ CEO plea to pilots re:strike vote (video link)

What’s most interesting to me is the delusion many of the WJ pilots I know live under with regards to their relationship with the company. The Kool-Aid as it were. Well up until recently. Verbatim quotes said to me over the years. Just a few. “Well we do it differently here” “Well I’m actually part ...

don't go to either solely for the flow or guaranteed interview That’s pretty terrible advice. Taking into account “what we know today”, if Mainline is your goal you should only go to which regional either provides you flow or a guaranteed interview and your quickest path to mainline, and an option ...
