Hmmm.. just checked iTunes. It looks like it's only available for iPad. I could have sworn I saw an iPhone version.

I know this will not be popular but if in your example WalMart saves the consumer money on every purchase by operating efficiently and the consumer supports their business well good for Walmart. Great. Just what we need, the 'walmartization' of aviation in Canada. Yes, greed is good for the extreme...

Re: Price of Gas...

Not to change the direction of the conversation (oil prices) but if I use the hospital once every 2-3 years why am I paying so much taxes towards something I rarely use? That means that my doctor visit was not $100 but quite possibly $700. In which case to get a prescription for some tylenol, I'd r...

Re: Can a non Canadian get a job in Canada?

Frozen ATPL I am not sure it is ICAO vocabulary. I would even say it doesn't officially exist. It is called very simply: ATPL theory. Why twisting vocabulary? It's an informal term used quite commonly through out Europe and many other parts of the world to denote having a CPL, IR and MCC. In the JA...

Re: 126.7 In NWO

So since they've been operating HS748s for years then they don't have to do anything to add DH8A and DH8C to their certificate??? But seeing as you know so much, how about you explain why there are 2 dash 8s in Wasaya colours but none flying under a Wasaya call sign! The -300 is owned by Goldcorp b...

Re: 126.7 In NWO

Why do I need to call you in ZKE while I'm on the ground in YFA? That's where you've lost me. My original point was that calling final and down & clear on 126.7 is unnecessary. You're making those calls on 122.8/123.2 and whoever is on the ground at or in the vicinity of your destination airport sho...

Re: 126.7 In NWO

I beg to differ....try being on the ground in CZKE (122.8 mhz)....and CYFA being less then 5NM away (122.8 mhz)....and transiting between the two airports. Any call on the ground to either of these airports usually isn't heard on 122.8 due to low reception height. Whereas 126.7 can be heard miles a...

He was alluding to the fact that Harper only allows four questions from the media per day and keeps them at bay with a fence. I thought he campaigned on openness, transparency and accountability? http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/special/federal-election/national/liberals-would-be-unable-to-negotiate...

Noticed recently that the amount of really, really useless radio calls have gone up. Ugh, my pet peeve. Useless or unnecessary radio calls. I'm not perfect and I make the occasional poor radio call but it's the repeat offenders that bother me. I recently had someone say "xxxx started up on the ramp...

Doesn't surprise me at Jetstar. You should see their "cadet" and "advanced cadet" programs. Ab-initio cadet program cost: $88K + $86K = $174K (plus accommodation/meals for 18 months) Advanced cadet program cost: $86K (accommodation/meals included) http://www.jetstar.com/au/en/pilot-cadet-program.asp...

Ignatieff doesn't deserve to be PM after spending 35+ years in the US making US money teaching US students. Actually, he only spent 5 years working in the US at Harvard University. Prior to that he spent 22 years in the UK undertaking a research fellowship at Cambridge University and working as a j...

Unfortunatley it is all FO time. Is getting in as direct entry captain easier? What are the chances that Air Canada will be able to sponsor me for a work visa? No, they will not sponsor you. Why would they have to or need to? There are several thousand applicants on file who meet the basic qualific...

Re: GOPRO cameras?

I have a Contour HD GPS camera. It's the GoPro's competiton. I prefer the Contour design as it's more streamlined. The video footage is fantastic for such a small camera (less than 5 ounces). The unit has a set of lasers that allow you to point and adjust the lens (rotates 90 degrees) so that the vi...

Yup; one end of the lake to another. And it's not a small lake either.

I want to know the outcome of the guy on the sled at 2:47 on the first trailer posted at the top of this page. It doesn't look it'll be pretty.

Re: Air Canada Interviews

We have a Charter of Rights and Freedoms in Canada that is suppose to prevent employers from discriminating based on age, sex, religion, race, ethnicity, etc. Therefore flight time based on age should not have any effect on hiring as this would be construed as age discrimination.

I can't wait for this video to come out. I really enjoyed their last film That's It, That's All and this one, I'm sure, is going to be even more insane. These are the heli operations that they worked with for their last film a few years ago: Aeroptics, NZ Heliworks, NZ High Terrain, Nelson, BC Era H...
