Re: Emergency crews respond to Peterborough airport.

172 views Jun 8, 2023 Just before midnight on Monday night 911 call takers received a call advising them of a really low flying airplane in the west end, it was reported that the concerned citizen believed she heard the pilot yelling out the of the airplane for help as it flew very low to the groun...

We are also a long way behind in mass shootings and personal bankruptcies due to medical debt... It’s ok though because our dollar is worth 30% less, our housing is generally more expensive everywhere in the country, we are taxed at a higher rate in every bracket and we pay into a carbon tax scheme...

Re: Asiana A321 cabin door opened in flight

Pure speculation on my part, as I have never flown an airbus... I assume the emergency exits are operable as long as there isn't a pressure differential as opposed to requiring WOW or something. So, if the cabin was set to be depressurized at 500-1000 AAE, it seems plausible that it could be opened...

Re: Airspace questions

Just remember: if it’s controlled airspace, and it’s above 12500 feet, then it must be class B. So when an SR71 visits us, who do they call up at FL601? ASPEN 31 (SR-71): Center, ASPEN 31 requesting FL600. LA Center: ASPEN 31, if you can get there you can have it. ASPEN 31: Roger, Descend...

Re: Air Sprint Salary

Is the PBS for rotation selection like 7/7 or 8/6 or is it just for booking vacation? Like can you go 8./6 one month and then 7/7 another? PBS and the rotation schedule are two separate things. If you get on the rotation schedule, you no longer "bid" using PBS. Once awarded the rotation schedule, y...

Re: Approximate net pay for new f/o on Q ?

Where are you getting the 3 weeks for line indoc? Are you maybe confusing line indoc with company indoc? Can't think of any operator the type/size of Porter putting a calendar time on line indoc; usually it is a combination of minimum flight time and sectors flown required but ultimately making sure...

Re: Air Sprint Salary

You can pretty much ignore the 14/14 and 18/10 columns as you won't see those for at least a year as those need to be awarded during a bi-annual bid, by seniority. Plus there needs to be someone on the same type and seat/position that is on the opposite schedule to line up with. And those alternate ...

Sorry to hear that, but it looks like you landed on your feet with a new adventure. Sad to see the opportunity of a fly-until-retirement job disappear, but yet another example that nothing is concrete in this business.

Re: Glencore Raglan 737-200

Now looking for a Chief Pilot, through a recruitment company. Guess the former CP didn't want to move with the operation to YUL. Don't blame them; sounds like the beancounters are starting to infiltrate and make changes to the operation. Perhaps the beginning of the end of the longest corporate flig...
