Sask PLAR program
I'm looking into the Sask Poly PLAR program. Has anyone here done it recently? Did you challenge all the remaining courses, and if so how did that go? And how long did it take start to finish to complete the program? I'd be looking to do it via distance ed, if that is possible. I realize the site sa...

Re: Im so broke from being a pilot
How long in your career were you living on less that 40k/yr. how long till you caught up your friends who are not in aviation. Took less than two years to make over 40k, and offered a 100k/yr position not long after. I turned it down to go 705. Your career is what you make of it, personally I'm not...

Re: Looking for stability...
People are getting their preferred base a week into initial ground school right now... initial seniority bid type is more important than location now since you'll likely hold the base you want by the end of line indoc.

Re: Island Express
Because left seat Navajo pays better than any right seat Q400 job in this country. Both positions require about the same experience. The gap is getting bigger too. Some Navajo companies are actually starting to increase the pay. If you choose the Navajo, the trick is to not drive yourself crazy wit...

Re: New hire bids
I've been told they need to hire close to 190 pilots by this time next year. That's more or less from people who would know but it's still second hand information. So take it for what you will.

Show me where you can go get a Q400 job right out of school.
Why are we comparing a Q400 and Navajo? Really, now...

Re: New hire bids
There is a class on the 28th, and another in early December. They split a 16 person class between the 28th and December. Don't know why.

Since I posted the question I've now heard both the 14th abd 21st of this month were/are all classic. 16 per class. Between YVR/YYZ.

New hire bids
Does anyone know what is up for grabs for the class that started today? And potentially what they are trying to fill as priority for the next few classes before Xmas.

Depends where you go, but left seat it's easy to make over $40k/yr flying a 'ho.AirMail wrote:porcsord understands, be more like him. You will however likely be making more as a ho driver than say encore, ggn, or jazz.. so there's that.

Looks like the market "circuit breakers" tripped and the stocks have lost a ton in the last couple days. Hope you got out in time! Haha, yeah that was just a few stock though and only one I was in. Lots of money in other smaller companies. I'm up %150 today alone across the board. I sold ...

No SIM. Iirc, Porter and Sky also both don't have SIMS.
Considering many 704s out there have them for flying a 1900, I'm amazed it's not more commonplace in 705.

I know someone who applied for the King Air FO job, was told he would have a phone interview then a week later it was magically filled internally. Are they posting these external jobs so the rampies feel bad and work harder or something?

If you did your test in YUL and all your references have been contacts, my guess is they are just waiting for an available date to offer you before calling. I know, the wait is the worst .

Yes. Where did you do your drug test? In some cases it needs to be sent away and can take up to a week. Your file may be approved already but they may be waiting on a training date before calling you. I wouldn't worry too much, it's better to hear nothing.

Re: UFLYMIKE QC15/25 Opinions
The QC25's also do not loose audio when the ANR dies. This in itself makes the QC25 and Harmony bundle a winner. Not to mention the new Harmony set up looks very neat. I have tried the QC25's as just audio headphones and they work very well. Both ANR on and off.
