Re: B757 ETOPS program cancelled?
The bean-counters probably won't justify the cost of ETOPs until Jazz has their own widebodies on property. Even if Jazz had the ETOPs now, it wouldn't be of much since TC Canada doesn't do overseas flying. Getting it set up in hopes of overseas work is difficult to justify from a cost point-of-view...

Re: Sunwing Adds a New Twist on Foreign Pilots
There's several opportunities in the contract world for pilots with just FO time. Korean Airlines is one such airline... http://www.rishworthaviation.com/Opportunity/869/korean-air-b737-ng-first-officers-2-6-july-screening.aspx Im sure someone with B737 time wouldn't have many problems getting an in...

Look at the Navigation and ATC section. Mainly the ETOPs and MNPS stuff would be a good read. Lots of great info on that site.

Re: Low-time hires
well it looks like i will be flying westjet regional, good luck jazz A little over-dramatic methinks. If you look at the experience level of Jazz's captains, there is still plenty of experience in the cockpit on all of Jazz' flights. If you compare their experience levels in the cockpit to other ai...

We have a forum for Aviation Videos, I think it would be good if there was a forum for people to post their flying or layover pictures.

Re: Eating healthy while on the job
That's a good system. I do the apple and banana a day as well in between meals. How much do you spend on food a month eating this way if you don't mind me asking? To be honest, I don't have any idea. I dont really keep track of my per diems and how much I spend as it varies from month to month. Som...

Re: Eating healthy while on the job
- Limit the amount of crew meals I eat. I never eat the whole thing. I offer my dessert to the captain or to the cutest FA. - I try not to eat the hot cookies or chocolate/maple fudge on our flights. This is very tough. - If Im on a long pairing, I'll stop at a grocery store for dinner on some night...

Re: Air Transat layoff next year
In my opinion, it's never worthwhile to layoff 17 pilots for such a short period. The money that may have been saved in salaries will be more than offset by the cost of pilots quitting and having to retrain new ones.

Re: WestJet Starts Regional
Growing pains are inevitable, no company is immune to it. WJ is just like any other airline out there. These kinds of issues have plagued every company that has gone through something similar. People talk about SWA and how it seems to be the rosiest place in the world to work, but right now they're ...

Re: French?
What everyone else has failed to mention is that the girl-to-guy ratio in French classes (or in any language class) is always very high. On a serious note, I would definetly stick with french. It could help out if you are applying for flying jobs in parts of Quebec and it does get you more points to...
