Re: Covid Vaccine Approval & Medicals
Probably jumping the gun here. They are just saying ‘don’t participate in trials’. IE don’t take until fully FDA approved. Whether the ‘emergency authorization’ period is disqualifying is unknown still, may have to wait for that to end. I would imagine it would be a losing battle to ultimately tell ...

Re: Save Canadian Aviation March in Ottawa Oct 20th
It’s not just this forum. The internet as a whole is degenerating into a polarized, angry cesspool of people arguing in their own echo chambers. Social media caters to people’s baser instincts and rational, critical thinking abilities are disappearing... It also doesn’t help that this forum has beco...

Not that they didn’t have the seniority, but they took a voluntary lay off, and now facing a reality-check after their summer off, decide they want to now work for encore. IMO they had their chance.

Re: Science-Based Alternative to Ease Quarantine Act Restrictions
I get the frustration, at our house we have been affected by job loss as well. But once you say the word ‘snowflake’ I stop listening. There may be job loss now, but you would also have no job down the road if the virus had been allowed to just run rampant, hoping for it to just ‘disappear’. Equatin...

But..But... Ed said that this was not planned before the pandemic! He said it several times so it must be true.

Re: Will Westjet survive?
Management did their best to paint the pilots as the devil during negotiations and pit the rest of the employees against them. I think what we have here is an example of the brainwashing having its intended effect.

Re: Will Westjet survive?
It's a shame, I feel that there was a competitive advantage in having the customer 'touch points' IE the CSAs, in-house. Now you will have people who only give a damn just enough to not get fired, wearing WJ uniforms. Obviously WJ figures the lack of service for 50c on the dollar (or whatever) is wo...

Re: Will Westjet survive?
I find it interesting that there is no "Will Air Canada Survive" thread or it's equivalent on the Air Canada Forum. It seems that they are in the same industry and face the same issues and challenges. Is it that all Canadians just expect and know that the government will bail out AC no matter what ...

They’ve also managed to reduce costs by at least 60% so far. They’re not just sitting around waiting for the cash to run out.

How did this get associated with a Navajo? You have to take into account the pyramid of "AvCanada bitchiness". There was no option to complain about instructing, so the poster reverted to the second level of the pyramid. Some good old 703 bashing! -------- At the top, you have FTUs and flight instr...

Re: WS/WO Layoff Mitigation Agreement
The senior guys will be fine. We are the only “international” airline that lets you keep flying (in your left seat) past 65. Their lost wages over the period of the moa can be recouped in a few months. I’ll support last pay to the last day in exchange for 65 retirement age. Deal? This statement isn...
