Re: Layoffs

What happens to flight attendants is a completely different ball game to pilots. Only one of them can be re-trained in an afternoon of operating door handles. True, but it appears they’ll get EI, health benefits, and travel benefits. I doubt any pilot that gets lay off notice will get that. Seems l...

Re: Ability to Jumpseat for free on any EASA Carrier??

Air Canada and Express pilots can take the Lufthansa FA jumpseats internationally. Book via myIDtravel, if its full then ask the gate agent for previously mentioned.

Re: Everyone’s talking about it...

In theory, yes. However things aren't as they were 2-3 years ago. Pilots taking 2-3 attempts to pass the PIC (whereas it was a one and done for a long time) and many FO's upgrading and just scraping through. Sure they meet the "minimum" but that minimum was based on past experiences and the type of...

Re: Kobe Bryant chopper crash

To those of you making comments about Kobe; please, have a little class and only discuss aviation here. You're empowered to believe whatever you want about the man, but he was an iconic athlete loved by millions of people around the world. A lot of people are rattled by this. Why? Why should celebr...

Re: Jazz to launch pay for type rating program

Oh great. Is he going to try to mentor people in the flight deck? I thought the 10% would work! Based on looking at the new hire bios from time to time and seeing some faces I hoped I'd never see again, the %10 certainly isn't working. In fact it's somehow working backwards as some of the best FOs ...

Re: Jazz to launch pay for type rating program

Word around Jazz is that captianKirk (the mentor guy and youtube one) is going to mainline AC.It makes sense, considering that he's removed his "regional pilot pay" video. I wonder if he's gonna be financially better off, at approximately 50% less than what he was making at Jazz...good luck. Can't ...

Re: How to ensure you fail an AC interview

Or you can ask me, I’ve bombed an AC interview already. It was supposed to be a 90% success rate. Right fellas? LOL... In all seriousness, not the end of the world. You only loose if you don’t get back up again. Yes this is the Captain I would want to fly my company's employees, family or friends o...
