Re: Some Questions
The possible 777's would not be a big surprise, and may not show a surge in hiring. With the 787 now on indefinite delay, the company can not grow Rouge without replacing the 767's with something. This may be a temporary patch until Boeing starts delivering functional 787's.

Re: Air Canada Pool
FlightOps is currently not planning any groundschools following November. There will be hiring as people choose to retire and groundschools in the new year but no plan yet on dates. Equipment and base will always be unknown until just after the last bid before the class.

Re: Air Canada Pool
Is it possible that people in the NOV 12 course would be bidding straight into the LCC.....Could a new hire potentially hold a 767 FO position?? You could possibly bid on, and get a 777 Captain position also. Not likely, but possible. Remember that you are behind a whole whack of EMJ FO's that are ...

Re: New Contract thread
The EMJ is not going to the LCC, just outside of scope (outside ACPA/Mainline). Those jobs are protected by the contract. A319/767 jobs at LCC will be flown by ACPA pilots who keep their mainline seniority number, and can bid in and out of LCC, almost as they would to any other aircraft at mainline....

No, I wouldn't count on the second language thing even coming up. Like oldone said, good luck to the applicants, it really is not the same airline we heard about in flight school.
New contract info out on Monday. Get your helmet and mouth guard, it ain't gonna be pretty.

Old 200's from the dessert. No change in the active fleet. Probably to get cash for the recently agreed on 777's.

Args, I would post my question as a separate topic. I don't think that the people that could answer your question are reading this thread.

Re: AC Starting Salary
Yes. There was a small increase proposed on TA1, however the new hire flat pay would have been extended from 2 to 4 years, with year 3 and 4 having lower pay than what could be expected on the old contact under formula pay. This is one of many things that still need to improve in any new contact.

Re: Air Canada Interviews
I wouldn't read too much into the application disappearing. This happens occasionally as it is edited or renewed etc. Still expect 20 per course per month, with the next course on the first week or March. Lots of spots to fill still. Good luck.

Welcome back from the holidays Rockie. I see you're back to replying to your own posts. Do you really feel that another 4255 posts of you pounding your fists in the sand on a forum that only you seem to read will change what happens at ACPA? Go outside, get some fresh air, spends some time away from...

Pilotslounge, Although all the info you asked for is listed in this thread, and you should take the time to read it, it is Christmas, so here's a freebie: Some recent hires have only had multi-turbine F/O time, and the post secondary requirement now only requires completion of schooling to universit...

Re: YVR Commute
Did the commute for a year as a brand new RP. Very excited to get back to Vancouver though. I have to say it can be done, just have to be prepared with a couple options, like extra flights, travel a day early, and keep those jump seat coupons well stocked. When things fall apart and get busy at AC, ...

The next aircraft courses are 22nd Aug (8 slots), and 05 Sep (6 slots). Therefore I bet there will be one or two PIT courses starting between the 8th and 22nd of Aug. Unless there are 26 people showing up next Monday .
