Re: New Bottom Feeder's
You're an idiot "Planebored"- Trash a company that's giving young pilots an opportunity and livelihood during the worst economic impact to the aviation sector in modern times. You were probably some boo-hoo, lazy prick that no one liked on the flightline and blamed all your problems on "management"...

Re: ASA CX3 flight computer or cellphone app?
Don’t bother with anything but an E6B. You’ll never use any flight computer in real life. The E6B gives you a more fundamental and graphical representation of your problems and is far less susceptible to finger problems or gross errors. Plus they are cheap. You can probably find one for free from an...

Re: Midlife Career Change
Those who still have jobs are often seeing companies cutting wages and working conditions because now they can because they have a pile of over qualified candidates ready to take your spot... and they love to say "you should just be thankful you have a job" If your employer hasn't taken this opport...

Re: Midlife Career Change
Offering to work for free does several things: 1) It offends more sensible owners and their employees who’s livelihood is based on offering a service for price. They often have to deal with bottom feeding competition and chisel charters constantly trying to undercut them. 2) It shows that you don’t ...

I share your frustration. But if a vote were held today the same results would happen. 3 out of the 4 major parties have a very green platform. They have that platform because they poll. They know what voters want and try to appeal to it. Billions in Oil and Gas investment ( Billions with an S) hav...

That’s why this video seems a little off.. like previous posters said, emphasizing preflight planning and vertical autopilot modes rather than more immediate situations. Thanks, It is always good to bring up pre-flight planning as it can be extremely important in many ways. But it is also important...

Re: RCAF reserve as a second job
The only thing unprecedented about this pandemic is the way the media is covering it and how the politicians are reacting to it. It’s a negative feedback loop that’s only moderated by how many people are ignoring it for how ridiculous it is, and the realization that you can’t actually shut everythin...

Re: Regarding AME Shortage
Certain provinces produce better AMES. I find in sask, alberta it’s more of a farm mentality and lots of oppies happen from the GET ER DUN attitude. But there more likely to tackle a big job then say ONT / BC Ames if they haven’t done it before. What a load of crap. I went to school with these type...

There’s no saying what would happen first for what reason. That’s why this video seems a little off.. like previous posters said, emphasizing preflight planning and vertical autopilot modes rather than more immediate situations. No plane should be climbed in pitch or vertical speed mode for any exte...

Re: TBM Icing analysis video.
There must have been something else. An airplane overcome by icing simply descends. If it stalls, with lots of altitude, you recover. You don’t go into a spiral. Death is slow as you run out of power, altitude, airspeed, and ideas. I believe this was a roll or a pitch upset that this pilot wasn’t tr...

Re: Westjet mask policy
That’s a poor analogy. One that has killed a lot of pilots and their passengers when the guy signing the cheques told them to do stupid things they should have said no to. Pilots always have to use their critical thinking skills when operating an airplane. For masks, though. Mask policy is harmless....

Re: Flight Control Problem Could be the Autopilot
Autopilots have feedback loops. That’s how they know how far off state they are and figure out what to command to achieve a desired state. There is a commanded output and a measured output. A simple integration of the difference between commanded vs measure outputs. When you hit a certain threshold...

Re: Low Altitude Fuel Selector Handling
The Cessna 206 has an off selection between left and right tanks. As does the 172 if you go through off rather than both (though there would be no reason to). What’s interesting is that all of these valves are basically identical, and that only the handle and bezel are different. So in a 185, you ha...

Yes. It’s child’s play to introduce a disconnect system into an irreversible powered flight control system or a FBW aircraft.
Not so much at the small, manual, general aviation side of things. All they have is a clutch or servo you can overpower, or a button to disconnect.

I guess we could run this thing in circles all day .. the one factor that remains true is we have a PM with 2 ethics violations and a third on the way. That’s true. And I’m one of the swing voters who decides who actually changes things in this country rather than blindly sticking to binary politic...
