Re: YAM 208
My source is about as reliable as all the other conjecture I suppose. I heard it from a guy who heard it from a guy... He had to have been in the plane as there is no way a Caravan autopilot would last that long. Mystery solved. What are you talking about? I've never had a time limit or a countdown...

This second page is just as screwed up as the accident itself. Personally I think variable tailwinds pushed him all the way to Nashville into the fog...

Re: Ice Pilots Season 5 discussion...
I'm not really sure how the concept of one's experience level having an effect on how much one gets paid is escaping you, but as far as the supply and demand you preach on goes: Supply = Thousands of 200-250 hour low time pilots Demand = Pilots with over 1000 hours and varying amounts of turbine an...

Tractor747, I've been reading your posts for a while now. Don't take this the wrong way, but I think your business plans has all the marks of failure. I don't want to piss in your snow angel but perhaps my criticism can save you from losing a bunch of money. I have a feeling you love airplanes, hav...

1200 hours?! what do you seriously planning on doing here? Don't forget to wager in your 11 or 12 100's your going to pay plus whatever lost airtime during said inspections

Re: Coast Guard helicopter crash off CCGS Amundsen
I know sometimes they take the chopper out for "ice inspection" and have quite some "fun" while doing it. I hope this wasn't one of those time that went bad. Very sad none the less. Maybe I didn't make myself clear before my post was deleted. If you're going to make a speculation like that throw ou...

Re: Transwest Air DHC3 Otter crash near Ivanhoe Lk NT 22 8 2
If the tail departed on the transwest otter it would be noticible you'd think? Isn't it sitting nose first in a lake? On the topic of tails and otters. Any update on the Mayo otter crash? I've heard from multiple people in multiple locations they think the tail came off, along with the wings after i...

There's alot of good points in this thread and it hasn't drifted into the "back when" days. Keep it this way. Frozen Solid. I'm not sure if you read my posts but it seems like you and I are on the same page here along with likely very similar jobs. If it became mandated I'd have to adapt to this reg...

If that's something being mentioned out of their home base why not post it on here? He said he doesn't know if it's true or not so take it for what it is. A speculation. A theory. A rumor. Maybe it'll be what causes someone here to confirm or explain why that's the talk. I'm sure I'm not the only ot...

Re: Beaver Crash
Maybe I didn't read this right, since I only took the time to skim through it but DAR are you saying you won't fly on a commercial floatplane unless the provide you with a life jacket to wear during the flight? Can you tell me any operators out there that have their passengers wear them during the f...
