Re: AC Hiring

Jazz pilots worked for those seniority numbers and deserve them. you are not owed anything. the sense of entitlement from the jazz boys is insane. I've met many candidates with the same mentality. Luckily the AC hiring department has been weeding most of them out lately, since they have a surplus o...

Re: AC Hiring

How quickly flow gets discredited in our contract, it has the same weight as anything else in the contract. The violation needs to be rectified by the parties named. Jazz pilots worked for those seniority numbers and deserve them. No matter what you think you "deserve," you won't be getting a senio...

Re: AC Hiring

In response to what Rudder opined on a reserved seniority number for a held back Jazz pilot, I would suggest that this is a no go at this time. It is my belief, talking with those that I fly with and converse with, that there is little appetite from AC pilots to entertain the idea of reserved senio...

canadian_aviator_4 wrote: Tue Apr 11, 2023 12:38 pm So more than likely it would not result in any compensation for jazz pilots currently being affected by the flow agreement not being met?
Correct.

Re: AC Jetz

The flying actually isn’t that good. 5-6 day pairings, mostly all red eye flying, credit isn’t the best. You visit secondary airports in a lot of cities, pro or con depending on how you look at it. Pros are long layovers in some different cities, perks like getting to attend games and meet cool peop...

Re: Negotiations

Correct me if I’m wrong but did you not go over on pml 1.0 signed in 2015 with some type of Jazz seniority number ahead of OTS for two years? If that’s you, imagine had we agreed to that pml with a reserved number but AC didn’t honour it, what would you have done, sucked it up and moved on? You see...

Re: Negotiations

On an individual basis, no it was not a guarantee, promise or right however as a group, 60% of new hires with a MAXIMUM 10% turndown rate is as guaranteed as you can get. I’d love those odds for the lottery! I still don't think Jazz is going to offer any sort of compensation. What is the goal with ...

Re: Negotiations

The flow program was never a promise, guarantee or right, just an opportunity that a given percentage would have access too as an employee of Jazz. When a Jazz pilot migrated to AC seniority was determined by lottery during the PIT course. I'm aware of a pilot who was interviewed, hired but due to ...

Re: Negotiations

If you’re hired at AC in 2023 and you think jazz folks who 1. Were promised to be there in 2022 2. flew AC pax’s for the last 4+ years 3. held back to keep flying AC pax’s 4. Paid like shit the entire time Deserve BOLT you have to give your head a shake, It’s not about what anyone “deserves”. Check...

Re: YUL pairings 787

YUL B787 FO pairings range from 1-5 days, with 70% in the 3-4 day range. RP pairings are 3-5 days in length, with slightly more than half being 4 days. The vast majority are 2 legs per pairing. There is some off-base flying (especially on reserve), but there seem to be a lot more cases of YYZ pilot...

Re: Negotiations

Who controls the seniority list at AC? AC or ACPA? Pretty sure ACPA does and since they aren't signatories of the agreement any dream of getting pre-dated seniority number will be off the table since they can't harm their current members. This is sort of what I was getting at. There is zero chance ...

Re: Negotiations

Same as most grievances, money. The failure to honour the flow as stated on the contract meant nearly 300 pilots will have some 300 +people forever senior to them at Air Canada, impacting everything from bidding rights, vacation, wage increases, the list goes on. What do you think the dollar value ...

Re: Negotiations

In this case it doesn't matter who failed to honour the agreement. Our contract was clearly violated, and that is what the grievance will address. If we are successful, then Jazz and AC can figure out who is to blame, if Jazz wishes to pursue the matter with them. But when it comes to the grievance...

Re: Negots Committee - Elephant in the room

If you don't get elected by your peers, how can you end up as MEC chair. Trudeau would love this system The YVR base chairs had 68% of their base vote for them to go They stayed. Then recommended a MOA that got 20% approval from the membership That is ACPA This. At least CH has a backbone and some ...

Re: Negotiations

Grievance process going forward for the lack of pilot movement to AC. The next 295 Jazz pilots going to AC will have the opportunity to grieve AC not respecting the 60% commitment. To be followed. This doesn't make any sense. How can they "grieve" Air Canada, for something done while they were not ...

Educate yourself before making wild and baseless claims.
So your plan is to insult people into agreeing with you Dash guy?! Good luck!!
Oh boy, if you thought an innocuous statement like that was an insult, maybe you should change your username to snowflake.
