Re: Float Plane Crash Yellowknife - Float Docks
Just heard on the radio that it was an Arctic Sunwest plane and they figure that it might have hit a building. Some of the people I work with have seen pictures already and apparently it has come to rest on a few cars, still right-side-up (not able to see the front). Again this is all unconfirmed.

Re: Float Plane Crash Yellowknife - Float Docks
Unconfirmed, but I have heard that the plane is on the road and had taken out some power lines.

Re: Hobbies
I know a few guys who like to build RC's. They spend most of the winter building them and their time off in the summer destroying them. Never got into it myself but if things slow it sounds like it would be fun

Can anyone else make sense of this - 2010 Olympics?
* Rant Start* Ok, so right now I am working for a FBO that is a portal to YVR. Even though its excessive, I comprehend the planning behind screening private traffic going into YVR. Everything gets checked so the plane itself is secure before it enters airspace. Overkill IMO but makes a little sense....

Re: Abbotsford Shell - Olympics
You could always go to Vancouver. I hear it's 500 for handling and 50 bucks a head at some places, and that's before ramp fees! Ahh yes god bless the olympics!!!

Re: Second best job ever
Yeah it would be.
Just wondering about the episode though. It was supposed to be in Seattle. Is there a chance that that sequence was filmed there? I know that there are float ops and its unlike, but anyone know if there is a operator that has two crew single with cabin service? Ahh to dream!

"A Crisis in Flight Training"
Albeit an American perspective, are there any thoughts on how this relates to Canadian Aviation?

WJ emergency yyc?
Just wondering if anyone had any details. Heard them on the radio and I only caught the second half of the conversation. I guess electrical fire? Seems like everything is ok though!

406 ELT question
I heard a while back that the 121.5 elt will be restricted in to southern areas of the country only as the 406 systems as slowly incorporated by most private ops. Recently I have also heard that TC in all its wisdom might change its mind on the 406 regs?! Anyway, when this was in discussion I was to...

Re: Favorite Airport Terminal
Haven't been to too many yet but I remember Auckland's was really nice. Have to say my fave is probably the one in Winterpeg... Crazy??!?! Maybe, but I loved the observation deck they have there. Spent hours waiting for a flight and got to watch movies in solitude and a view. Not to hijack or anythi...

Re: Bad Trip
umm ok Strega. Sorry for being honest on a anonymous forum. Lets see, First I admit that it was a really stupid thing to do (hence buying doughnut). Second, it was my third solo flight. Third, thought the clearance was 'to position and hold'. Stupid I know. Thank god it didn't end badly. For this I ...

Re: When did your interest in aviation start?
My father had a small piper well before I was born and I remember going up often when I was young. To be honest the experience seemed old hat. It was even at the point during adolescence that I hated flying cause it meant spending another boring day with dad cleaning the airplane and waxing wings in...

Re: Bad Trip
Haha that's so funny. I did the doughnut things shortly after my first solo in YBW. I think it was my third solo flight. Total expectancy, but the controller told me to hold short and I thought it was a clearance to go to position and hold. So like a real dumbass I taxied onto the runway and the con...
