Re: Air Bravo minimum first officer times?

I've experienced a pt6 failure personally. Had I been in a pc12 I wouldn't be here today.

Re: Pathetic Pearson Airport

Both escalators not working to get down to customs yesterday at T3... saw an old man almost fall all the way down.

Honestly if I don’t see around 50% of equipment broken it’s a good day. Makes you wonder where all those airport fees go to.

Re: German airlines to scrap requirement for 2 people in cockpit

I'll bite too. I have no issues with occasional visits from FAs to my flight deck. The key word here is occasional. I don't distrust them but like the previous poster said, I trust my fellow pilots a lot more. All of them have been through a decade of other flying experience (with annual medicals an...

Re: Passenger Rights

I cannot believe how reactionary this administration has been. First the 2 person in cockpit rule, then the alcool incident and ensuing inquiry and now this? Seems like all TC is good for now is weak PR following the story of the week... Really disappointed in Garneau, expected more from an ex-astro...

Re: Jumping from airline to corporate?

I've done the opposite, and I wouldn't go back to corporate anytime soon. The only way I can see this making sense is jumping from a regional airline (if you got a mainline pfo) to a good 3 pilot gig. Those good corporate gigs are hard to find though, and the turnover is practically non-existent, ju...

Re: Gazette Part 1 - New fatigue management regulations proposed

I'm not sure I understand the purpose of the FRMS. Will it allow crews at companies that implement them to bypass the new rules? If so then what is the point of this change in regulation?

Also, one more useless annual "training"...

Re: WestJet almost puts one in the drink

Do you think it's normal to discover an unstable approach at 50ft? I'm pretty sure Westjet has an SOP saying all approaches have to be stablized by 1000ft.[/quote No, it's not normal. But it is also not an unusual or a rare occurrence. And it's hardly newsworthy! It's likely they were stable by 100...

Re: Is anyone seeing pay increases?

I made $4200 before taxes my first month on line at a regional... yeah with O/T but it certainly didn't feel like it. Not terrible. Might not be terrible but it's definitely nothing to write home about, especially if you need overtime to achieve that. Regionals were never top pay but it's never bee...

Re: Employees paying for electronic flightbag

FYI, electronic charts are the same cost of paper charts. There is very little savings in this regard. You save a ton on man hours not spent dealing with replacing paper charts. Also a lot easier to update the company manuels on there. Less paper printed = more savings. One could also argue that no...
