Cessna Citation Accident in VA. F-16s Scrambled
Pilot incapacitation of some kind; a terrible tragedy. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-65808194 US fighter jets scrambled at supersonic speed to intercept an unresponsive plane as it flew over Washington DC on Sunday. The F-16 jets caused a loud sonic boom that was heard around the region, ...

How big of a dock are we talking? I feel like you have a ton of options with the newer styles/materials that jigsaw together so transportation is a little less cumbersome.

I agree with you, wholeheartedly. Pay needs to be addressed. I understand they don’t get destroyed by taxation the same way that you and I are, but it is nowhere near what is encountered in the US. There’s a hell of a lot of reasons to go into looking at our markets, taxation and government policy. ...

How are airlines taxed vs those in Canada though? How are we the same when 50% of my salary evaporates when I receive it? I’m not buying that argument.

Re: Bearskin Airlines ranked most loved in the world
I know I'm an old fart, but when people pay attention to a supposed ranking based on simply a count of tweets with AI selected positive or negative wording I simply shake my head and sigh. Oh my god, thank you. No one considers the means in which this data was obtained. Congratulations on your crit...

Re: CBC - A shortage of pilots is making travel chaos in Canada even worse
The average person still thinks our job is pretty cool. They don’t see what we go through to get here, but let’s be honest, if we could bring our working conditions up to even a fraction of those in the US, the industry would start to fill back in pretty fast. I landed in a high pay, great schedule ...

I'm not sure what they're after but I know 2 corporate drivers one with 7000 hours and another with 10,000 hours that applied with not so much as a non-automated reply. Are the sims so backed up that they want a typed/current person?

I was 20/400 when I started, I'm far worse now. It's all corrected and no one has ever said a thing as it is corrected. If you wish to get laser eye surgery, that's your call to make but do not let it steer you away from a career in aviation.

Re: Buffalo Airways Boeing 737-300
They're still able to find people to work for them? On another note: Why are we still taking about "gravel kits" in 2022? Every community in the North should have paved runways... especially if "jet service" is warranted. Have you looked into the price and logistics in paving those strips at all? Y...

Re: Airlines push towards single pilot ops
Would it really be cost savings if you have to pay someone to sit in a remote room and be at the ready in the event the one pilot kicks it? Let’s replace CEOs with AI instead. Would one person on the ground replace one pilot in the air, or 5? We're dealing in hypotheticals, of course. Perhaps the a...

Re: Airlines push towards single pilot ops
Last week or the one before a regional in the states had a pilot die in flight. https://www.cnbc.com/2022/11/22/envoy-air-says-pilot-who-was-reported-incapacitated-during-flight-has-died.html You are most correct, happens all the time. However, the point of the article was that airlines are pushing...

Airlines push towards single pilot ops
https://www.seattletimes.com/business/airlines-push-for-lone-pilot-flights-to-cut-costs-despite-safety-fears/ It's a long road ahead to prove that one pilot with a significant group of safety nets could be safer than two, well-rested, qualified pilots in the flight deck, but the wheels remain in mot...
