Re: Flying the MPL Route
I would say a mix of training. Some things are great to learn in a sim, but some things you can only learn by doing the real thing.

Re: Flying the MPL Route
As AF447 has suggested, there is no guarantee that the "traditional" method of training and experience building will result in the pilot-flying recognizing stall symptoms and applying a correct stall recovery technique either. The real-world experience method is unbalanced-- it teaches some people ...

Re: The Northwest Company
And those guys wheren't even the top of there class (the best being moved on to fighters). We used to fly cantankerous, unreliable, complex, overloaded, and underpowered four engined bombers single pilot at night into war zones with 400TT. Pretty sure a 441 is a piece of cake in comparison.

Re: Drunk passengers implicated in B.C. plane crash
I came across this report yesterday and read through most of it. I agree that the TSB's probable version of events is by no means certain and has some contradictory evidence. What you people need to understand though is that the TSB does not assign BLAME. To say that the TSB shouldn't be allowed to...

At the "home" airshow of Airbus no less. Don't they have a camera on top of the vertical stabilizer so that they can see the clearance of the wingtips?

As an owner of an aircraft myself, I would say the experience of owning and maintaining an aircraft is valuable experience to have.

Re: What If I dont want to work for Air Canada....
First nobody starts off at an airline. Second after a while for a lot of people the romance of being a pilot wears off and it becomes another job. The realities of life with the kids, morgage payments etc... makes flying for $30 000 less interesting. Saying all that there are other avenues in the av...

Maybe he has a slim shot in Northern Canada. Flying in southern Canada sooner or later you'll be crossing the border. On the other hand if I was doing the hiring why would I hire a felon when I have so many other pilots applying for the same job?

Re: Single pilot multi-IFR operations??
Of course you are allowed to fly multi aircraft below 12 500 for commercial operators single pilot. The only way you aren't able to is if the flight is IFR and the pilot has less than 1000 hours total, then there must be a second pilot onboard.
