Re: ALPA Criticizes Cargojet
I understand telling employees how to vote but threatening them with layoffs during the company’s most profitable time in history seems like an insult to the brain.

Re: Air Canada Second Trip to C.C.A.A.?
Meanwhile there have been zero restrictions on foreign carriers to operate into Canada, 30,000 truckers have entered/left the country unvaccinated DAILY, but sure, let's point the finger strictly at AC for a global pandemic for "probably" importing a variant. Logic has gone out the window in this c...

I guess the optics work, those passengers will just connect with another foreign airline.
I don’t think most Canadians would be ok relaxing quarantine restrictions even with low risk countries, the polls support that. That’s the problem we face.

For the folks that want to shut down more international flights. We have 3 day quarantine at hotel + 10 day quarantine at home and have to provide 3 tests (pre departure, on arrival and 10 days later). What is your solution? It’s been proven statistically 99% of all infections are community. By the ...

Re: Air Canada and Government of Canada Conclude Agreements on Liquidity Program
Trudeau now saying he supports expanded restrictions on interprovincial travel. BC floating the idea that travel to that province should be restricted. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbc.ca/amp/1.5986848 Takes a certain amount of arrogance to screw up vaccine procurements and then screw Canadians...

https://apple.news/AVYS4j1cQT2uefgRl3rr05w “Canadians are now part owners of Air Canada, but this time they could make money. But unlike in some previous bailouts, we'll all make money if Air Canada shares rise” Only in Canada could a $500MM investment in a $9B company be considered a ‘bailout’. Ty...

American CDC telling Americans to avoid travel to canada even IF VACCINATED. As opposed to what’s being spewed on CBC, you now have a statistically higher chance of catching COVID in Canada than USA. Today: 1 daily case per 8024 people in USA 1 daily case per 5828 people in canada People are literal...

This is a solid distraction to the mediocre vaccination program the government had months to prepare for. What a clown show.

Think about this: Over a 10 month period up to today: -Head doctor said not to wear a mask Few months later: -Wear a mask Any virologist would have told you a second wave was coming and mutations were expected. Winter: -Goverment acts surprised again and shuts everything down. We are already running...

All flights to UK cancelled starting tomorrow from Canada.
Europe is next given the panic. I actually think all pax flights will be grounded in the coming days weeks. Probably the final nail in the coffin for airlines without government help.

There is a certain level of arrogance to post something like this as a minister of the worst hit sector of the country with hundreds of thousands of workers affected in this crisis. Some are having a very rough Christmas. Mr. Garneau was my one high hope of this entire government when he was appoint...

I voted for the last MOA but this is a easy no for me.
-No SnapBack to normal pay if cargo revenue increases passed a threshold.
-with the loss of 737/220 orders, no job protection.
We are able to buy another airline but can’t pay our pilots normal rate?!

I suspect cargo is also a big motivator for this flight. Available seats have been capped so I suspect some allowance for extra cargo payload given the range of the flight.
