Let me ask you this, would you put yourself in the hands of surgeon who made $1400.00 a month for your cardiac bypass operation, or the same applies to the lawyer who you would pay $10.00 to represent you in court. Thats because there are so few of them they can charge what the market will pay. If ...

hi evalle. unions aren't the answer. well, they are if you want very few pilots making big money, but you're cutting off opportunities for the others who are willing to sacrfice and take a low wage. CN/CPR rail engineers make good money because they don't have a flood of people waiting in line for a...

way too many variables in this industry and i've watched good friends move 5 times in five years with wife and kids in tow. maybe more. can't keep count. one key thing i've witnessed with my friends is that you either struggle for many many years, or you get a great job from the start, and in five y...

if i was in the flight deck, had reports of a loud boom plus vibrations, i'd opt for an american airport that can offer more emergency response equipment. in a situation like this, immigration would be the last thing on my mind.

xsbank, you dont build prop up a weak sector of the economy with subsidies. obviously, if a company or sector needs subsidies it can't compete effectively against the competition. if thats the case such as bombardier, then yes, we can and should buy saabs and embraer aircraft and let those countries...

North shore, your list is the role of any government. Socialism is about equality - by a means of confiscating what someone has earned for themselves. Providing roads and police service is the why we have governments in the first place - in addition to enforcing the laws and contracts in the country...

don't forget the NDP would label the ant as greedy... somehow those who take risks, put in extra effor, risk their life savings to get ahead are greedy. not one of the wealthly people I know got there easily. most were living in poverty and today have more than most can ever dream of. listening to t...

This is the best thing I've ever read to sum up Canada. We need to get rid of socialism. There are too many incentives to not work - or work very hard to really make something of yourself. The best social program is a job, and those are created by vibrant economies. Economies that are free of restri...

As someone mentioned above, wait until Kyoto takes effect. That will add an easy nickel to the price of a litre. Gasoline is processed from light crude oil. Most of Albertas oil is heavy crude, so is the middle east crude. We are running out of oil that is cheap to refine. Texas has most of the ligh...

small pie and too many people trying to eat.. if that makes sense. there's only so much money to be made for the aviation companies and too many carriers and pilots all trying to make a go of it. therefore everyone goes to extremes to make a buck. i don't think those who pay for their training/PPC o...

redbeard... the problem is too many pilots and not enough jobs. once an industry is saturated with potential employees, people will do whatever it takes to gain employment and experience. considering there are thousands of pilots applying for the same few positions, people do virutally anything to g...

.80... what's with the high and mighty attitude?? in my books a 172 pilot who loves his weekend flying is just as much of a 'pilot' as the CL captain pushing buttons on the FMS. Dunno dude, i have lots of friends who are captains on A340's down to turbo props. They all complain of the glorified taxi...
