Re: 421 into the trees on surveillance video
Golden Eagle, thanks for the imaginary performances of the 421...I have flown the 411 and the Piper Chieftain and had single engine pucker factors on both...Yes, the 411 will meet these performances but not the 421, being considerably heavier. The Navajo has the same numbers as the 421...so, seizing...

"Rumours" have it some claim to have seen it fly UNDER power wires...Either he was loaded with ice or/and lost an engine...clearly a controlled crash...Keep in mind this design has no ailerons but spoilers...so if you use them instead exclusively of rudder for single engine control, guaranteed crash...

Re: Crash at Iles-de-la-Madeleine
When flown by properly trained pilots, the MU-2 is probably the best performing plane out there...however, just jumping in from a King Air or Twotter could get you in serious trouble if you get an engine loss on go around...There's no ailerons but spoilers...so unless you really, but really step in,...

They fueled a Nordair FH 227 with sea water once at Cape Dyer(DEW line)The thing only ran to mid runway on take off, then flamed out.
That was the only time ever that we were glad the Rolls Royces guzzled so much fuel!

Atefeh Rajabi, a sixteen year old girl hung for talking back to a judge. She had been assaulted by some older men, and when the judge alleged it was her fault, she lost her temper. He was so enraged by her behavior that he personally put the noose around her neck. When you are hung in Iran, there is...

http://www.mallardaircraft.com/ It will slay the twotter...far more pleasant to fly...go 40 knots faster for seven hours, fly just as slow, plus it's a real amphib that can take real waves... Re: Chinese captain goes to jail
I think that there is a lot more going on with that operator than being "one minute" over a duty time limit......... I was not mentioning a specific case but a general policy...jet cargo operators all keep flying right to the limit...so you keep looking 12 months before to see if you dropped time s...

The Dornier Seastar: “(That one is) a twin-engined turboprop with a much larger cabin and payload.” Yes, the payload...zero after you load the pilot and tree hours of fuel...a wonderful plane otherwise. (Oh, not very fast either, if you slow down enough to stop the tail shaking) There was another Do...

One Quebec government's pilot got five years in jail for murdering a drinking buddy in Fort Chimo...today's Kuujuak, by buzzing him and ripping his head off with the floats... Out of jail, he got his licence right back and was famous for terrorizing truck divers with his buzzing around Baie Comeau, ...

Well, you need the 150 hp engine with the battery way back in the tail and extra large fuel tanks. They want $45,000 for that one straight back, not even painted: http://barnstormers.com/tmp_images/56/30/.watermarked_178998be771bbec55082d7854a2f542d.jpg http://www.barnstormers.com/Cessna,%20C-150+Ta...

The 150 or 140 on floats and wheel-skis will run you out of a lot of dollars...close to $100,000...never seen an amphib. Is there any? Champs are great but most have wood spars...you trust a forty year old wooden spar that lived on the water? A near new Challenger with a 582 on amphibs plus wheel-sk...

Re: Floatplane in high winds/heavy waves
Politics run aviation and in the old days, DeHav pulled Ottawa's strings(Had Saunders, a way better airplane, shut down...etc...) So they thought they take Canadair down, at it was down at the heel at the time and steal the water bomber business. Spain was up to buy water bombers, so Canadair and De...
