Just found on the Lycoming Site. Give a copy of this to your CP and DOM. . Takeoff: a. Part throttle takeoffs should be avoided. The fuel injector metering jet is a two-hole unit, which is interconnected with the throttle. The secondary jet is fully opened only at full-throttle conditions. The riche...

It's been about ten years since I flew the Ho. But, there is an SB from Lycoming that specifically prohibits reduced power T/O's due to two stage metering valve that increased the fuel flow at high power settings for improved engine cooling. To use reduced power for t/o may void your A/C's airworthi...

To Confuzed: You wrote lets see, free education, and free housing (on the reserve) to start. Mach Tuck is different from flutter. The P38 ended up with dive brakes installed. which reduced airspeed to point that aerodynamic control was regained. 1.Flutter tends to be resolved by adding mass balances, or stiffening of the control circuit ie: double balance tab arms, thicker skins, mass balan...

Max, I think the weights on thew elevator are more for flutter /aerodynamic balance than stability. Test flights revealed that tail flutter was a problem. During high-speed flight, especially during dives, the airplane's tail would begin to shake violently and the nose would drop. Once caught in thi...
