Re: Corporate Layoffs?

There might be some blue skies soon in corporate. Things have been picking up at my Fractional in the USA In April we were down to our worst day of 15% of average then it went up to 27% beginning of May. Last message was that were are averaging 67% of pre Covid now with some Occasional peak days mee...

It looks like corporate will recover long before the airlines.

Re: Non-essential border crossing banned

I did a few border crossings in the last two days from Barbados to the US . No issue
From US to Kelowna B.C. With CanPass again no problem. Then today from Kelowna to BFI no issue cleared right into the US.

Not sure what will happen next week, just going day by day.

Re: Who's gotten a lay off?

Just listened to the Flexjet CEO message to employees in the US. It seems that they are new extremely busy and expect to be for a few weeks with everyone trying to get to where they want to hunker down. He said after that when the reality of stock market sets in and general economic slowdown he expe...

Get some good current charts for the DC area and review the TFR’s.
Avoid it if you can all together.

Re: FAA ATP conversion test prep

Just an update, I finished the course and passed the test first time.
The course was exactly what I needed and saved me lots of time.
Well worth the price and was a very good prep for the questions on the conversion exam.

Re: Converting FAA ATP to Candian ATPL

I am taking the online copy from Harv’s Air and it seems good. I will let you know in a few weeks after I write the test how good the program was. The conversion process is straightforward for FAA license holders. On the harv’s air web site it explains the process step by step and is exactly what TC...

Tertius wrote: Thu Jun 06, 2019 5:20 am Hi there, I just completed it and passed first time. I used www.pilottraining.ca and they have a dedicated course for FAA to TC
I am currently doing that same online course for FAA to TC ATPL.

How close was the practice test to the actual TC test?
Any tips and advice would be appreciated thanks.

If I may(speaking as a 70 yr old who has seen plenty), one item rarely mentioned in such preambles as noted by previous poster is demographics. I am from a family of six youngins, which was the norm back then but it isn’t anymore. Fast forward to 2019 and beyond the twentish commodity of agers are ...

I just checked and all of my points are there.
I made the “Diamond for Life” status last year so there was no change in status for me.

Don’t forget to sign up for the 2019 bonus program of double points and 10000 extra points for every 5 nights. The promotion goes on until May 2019.

Re: Netjets getting even better.

What’s the closest thing in YYZ? Is Airsprint ever thinking of a Toronto base? Or flying pilots to where they need to be like flexjet? Flexjet use to only have Dallas as a base then after Flight Options parent company bought them 3 years ago they opened up 80 bases which is more or less home basing...

Re: Netjets getting even better.

Here is the Flexjet pay scale for their larger equipment. Here is a little explanation of the pay scales. The G450/500 and the Global and Gulfstream 650 are annual pay for a team of 5 captains per aircraft. They set their own schedule. While the pay may seem low there is also a bonus paid up to 50% ...

Re: Netjets getting even better.

The one big caveat to working in the U.S though is health insurance - and while the net take home is significantly higher, you have a sizeable portion removed for your insurance. I lived in the states for quite a few years and had PPO insurance. It was about $60 per month. Hardly a drop compared to...

Re: Netjets getting even better.

Here are the current NetJets pay scales from their contract. You can add $25K to $30K to each of those numbers for the soft money added to their pay per year. Those numbers are for a schedule of 7 ON/ 7 Off with home bases. Increases in 401(k) match to 63% over the life of the Agreement -Creates a N...

Re: Woman brings emotional support SQUIRREL on flight.

I was on a flight in the US last month and the flight attendent told me that the flight had a record of 6 dogs on board.

I counted 4 around me but missed the little ones in the carry on bags.
The dogs were better behaved then some humans.

Re: Phenom 300 and cold we ops

So is -40c apply for enroute in flight as well? Does the aircraft have engine fuel heaters that where the excess return flow also heats the fuel in the tanks in flight as well? I could see that as a limitation otherwise. If I recall the P&W 535 doesn’t require prist. The -40c is only for Takeoffs a...
