Re: 777 Funded Flair Using Insurance Customers' Deposits
The question you should be asking, is if going into a recession Porter, AC, and WestJet's business models can survive. AC is crown owned so they'll be fine. The less money people have to travel, the better the ULCC's will do . Think 1997 WestJet (when the population was only 30 Million) Not true at...

Re: Another 25 orders firmed up.
Exciting! Sure are a lot of airframes in the Canadian market now! Where will the pilots come from? I have yet to fly on Porter's E2 but I'm sure tempted to just book a JS flight and check it out. Been hearing great things. Congrats!

Re: Uflymike with Sony xm5
If your fleet is mostly MAX8 and you’re not commuting/deadheading too much then consider spending some extra coin and get the Bose Proflight instead. I had the proflight. It was a good headset but if you're like me and don't like the in ear system and constantly having to adjust it, get the uflymik...

Re: SkyLink pilot union takes pay cut & b scale
Yikes!! This is the first pay degradation I've heard of in recent history!! That is embarrassing!! I sincerely hope people avoid that operation. Nothing against their pilots, two of them have been my colleagues and were a pleasure to fly with. But that operation needs to disappear.

I believe the winter courses have been about 80% jazz. Likely to balance the percentage from previous class ratios. This has been consistent with the winter course makeup rumors. I haven't heard what the makeup will be for 2024. GLTA

Re: Timing the cycle
30% for new hires only brings that up to about 85,000, I’m thinking new hires will get at least 50% and decreasing as you go up to the 25-30% range in the top scale. This from an outsider but realistically where it should be, so I hope I’m right, accountant your thoughts, lol Your math is off. 30% ...

Re: Timing the cycle
So you’re saying you expect at minimum a deal for a 53.65% increase just to erase inflation from 2003-2023, let alone inflation moving forward? You’re out to lunch. I may have been slightly off on my projection but there is no way AC is going to give you that right off the top. Exactly. I'm expecti...

Re: Yr 1 FO $130k
Boys and gals get ready. Good things are coming. In a recent board meeting it was unanimously decided that the management understands how pathetic the WAWCON are at AC and are willing to take it to the next level. They want AC to be competitive and want to invest in the pilots. Expect $130k year 1 ...

Flair has a 737 sitting in YOW that’s hasn’t moved in almost two weeks. Tbaylx or co-Joe will tell you it’s for advertising It's actually part of the ULCC strategy that the company has proven in Canada for the first time ever. You save money by not burning as much gas. Surprising that you didn't kn...

Re: Pacific Coastal - flight instructors aren't real pilots
As a line guy I always found training instructors difficult. We're going to fly at 14000' this leg. " but the flightplan says fl200" Yes I know however we will have only 40 kt hw vs 120, "but we need to fly high for the TAS" actually this planes tries best between 17-fl190. We're going to fly this ...

Re: Best Cellphone Deal
I understand that AC pilots are the experts on Cell Phone Plans I don’t know if this is because they are the lowest paid and need to save every penny or always on short call reserve so need a good plan So what is currently the best cell phone plan available? Thank you in advance AC pilots for your ...

Re: How long until you hear back from AC?
Hi Folks, so some have mentioned that they aren't getting the PFO (due to medical/psych/BG chk) until after the board has met. How often does the board meet? Does anyone know officially? About 9 weeks since the interview and medical (following day was BG check email and no ref checks yet) - just wa...
