Re: Ferry Pilot Inquiry
I do have Eapis, I didn't even look at the option. Definetly something to consider. As for insurance, they would like me to get 10 hours dual. THAT is precisely why you need to do this flight. A local friend did the reverse and flew commercial out to BC to get his 182 T/RG and flew it back here to ...

Re: CanForce to China with the PM
On longer flights like that they have to stop for gas on the way. If the flight is longer than a single crew can do in a crew day, they would have a slip crew prepositioned at the fuel stop too. Flying from YVR to China, my best guess would be a stop for gas in Alaska. The Polaris cannot refuel in ...

CanForce to China with the PM
Was thinking about the range of our old A-310s. Today’s flight departed YVR....do they have the range?

What about the flight crew? Would they have been questioned? Grounded? Turn around and fly the next leg?

Re: Air Canada / Rouge
I completely agree with all of that, but in my opinion Rouge was spun to the public as a lower cost alternative. Where in fact, there is no alternative, especially in some holiday destinations. Name one route where there is no choice between rouge and another airline. That's not my point. I'm a ded...

Yep there's no difference in price when you book AC / Rouge, or WJ / Encore. Same fare shows up just the fine print tells you who's operating what. Yes, make no mistake ......Rouge is supposed to be a low COST airline. ie cost to the company. It has NOTHING to do with the consumer. As far as I'm co...

Re: Sunwing Pilot Arrested
I am not an airline pilot but.....isn't there a pilot briefing an hour before the flight? Routing, weather, manifest, etc? There is something fishy or missing with this story. The article states the co-pilot "found" the pilot preparing and then slumped over.

EVA was given an intial hdg of 090 and then received an instruction to turn LEFT to 180. This is a 270 degree turn..... Wouldn't this normally be questioned? Is this normal?Black_Tusk wrote:Sounds like a lot of confusing instructions from ATC..

Re: What age is too old to go to AC and collect a full pensi
Some helpful numbers here, Max RRSP contribution is $24,930 a year (which at AC you will reach when making above 140k). So, in 25 years at 6% interest you will have 1.5 million. If you deiced to budget to the age of 90 (and keep a 3.5% rate of return or better) that's $75,000 a year in retirement. ...

Re: What age is too old to go to AC and collect a full pensi
Question isn't relevant. I don't work for AC, but DC means just that - you contribute a certain amount, the company does as well, you choose a place to invest the funds, and then when you stop working, you stop working. No more paycheque. There is no "maximum", is there? As long as you're working, t...
