Re: How to collect 1500 hrs

My advice to anyone looking to get more hours in their logbook (apart from buying some of mine): Get your hands on a privately-registered airplane with 4 cylinders with 100hp or less. Should burn max 6gph, more likely 5 gph. Sole ownership is ok, partnership is better. Buy something that has been f...

I love the AvCan logic: Some people can get PhD's in Mathematics. People are essentially equal. Therefore all people can get PhD's in Mathematics. I don't care what the AvCan Brain Trust (tm) concludes, there are some people I don't even trust to push my lawnmower. About 20 years ago, I was instruc...

Re: Finishing college or starting flight school?

Unless you're ridiculously organized, efficient and self disciplined I'd say do it after. I understand you have 4 months off each school year? If this is the case, some people do the associated ratings then (PPL, CPL, etc) if you can afford it. I have read some students finish the ratings on their b...

Re: Looking for a flying club for renting / recurrency in GT

The currency requirements at the flying clubs are ridiculous.

Look into block time hours. If you advertise, someone will PM you. There's a guy out of Oshawa on here who owns a tail dragger I believe, he's an instructor as well.

I wonder what COPA is going todo about this? I wonder the same thing looking at my credit card bill and the fee I paid. I suspect COPA will share our distaste at various flying clubs around the province....... on a Saturday morning as members eat their Sunny side up eggs with whole wheat toa...
