Mooneys are fast and slippery can be very hard to slow down and for the inexperienced can make approaches more challenging to learn.

The OP probably wants someone with experience slowing them down and flying a stable approach.

Re: Sudbury March 3 2017 ground collision B1900 vs FedEx Caravan

While it was too soon to determine dollar value, Ken Webster, an investigator with the Transportation Safety Board, said there was "substantial damage" to both planes, one of which was a Beechcraft 1900 C. The other plane was a Beechcraft 1900, The Star has learned. Hard to tell which of the 1900s ...

Re: QC25 Harmony uflymike

I can't offer advice as to how they will work in the airplane. I do however have both the Bose A20 and the QC25 for listening to music. I can tell you that the passive noise attenuation is far superior in the A20s The ANR is also much much better in the A20s, almost by double I would say. I really l...

Re: Headset recommendations

I've tried a variety of head sets both passive and ANR. I bought the Bose A20's and do not for a second regret it, I think they are fantastic. I am surprised that guys with large heads dislike them. I have a VERY large head, put it this way, I went to get a snowmobile helmet when I was 13 and after ...

Re: Bent Harvard II - Moose Jaw

I'm interested to find out the cause of the failure. I really know very little of turbo-props but from what I've been around and heard, the PT-6 seems to have a sterling reputation as being an extremely reliable setup. If it is the gearbox that failed it is most likely that it was a mechanical failu...

Re: Dogfighting

You guys are forgetting that g forces are taken out of the equation as these fighters have "dampening" technologies. Otherwise when you accelerate to the speed of light in a fraction of a second, you'd be a fine mist on the bulkhead. That is of course considering the ship could stand the acceleratio...

Absolutely, previous flying experience is an asset that will let you advance faster than your comrades . Some might tell you you won't be trained the way the military wants you to be. Nonsense. You can pickup the differences when you get there. If you are at RMC in Kingston, I strongly suggest Fly ...

Re: flight simming during PPL studying/training

Running checklist under compressed time, going through procedures etc... it sure helped me through training. I agree, very useful for instrument work. But to really benefit from the lower cost simulators and the environments they are found in It takes a well disciplined individual to actually benef...

Re: Aerial Spraying

The height above the crop is dependent on several factors, for instance when spraying potatoes for potato blight we flew with the wheels so close to the plants we often clipped them with the wheels, the reason for being so low was to use the down wash of the wings to turn the plant leaves over and ...

Re: Air Canada bans poppies

It may seem a small misstep to some.... But to even imagine that anyone in this country could for a moment even consider banning the poppy, from a uniform no less, the symbol that represents those who made the ultimate sacrifice and those who served loyally, is frankly mind boggling and disturbing. ...

720 also has a reputation as a gas guzzler and depending on the rated output and application only sustain full power for a brief period. IIRC

Just ask anyone who flew a Comanche 400, they sound fantastic however!

If we're talking best airplane movie ever, well there is much failure in this thread. The best airplane movie ever is of course: Battle of Britain Followed by 633 Squadron and Twelve O'Clock High Sully is a good MOVIE. Re: Arrow Gear Collapse

I believe the POH says to use the rudder aggressively to yaw the plane and help lock the gear if the indicator lights aren't lit after an emergency extension. Of course is a power failure, no lights. I'd aggressively yaw the plane to increase my chances of the gear being locked. You could also rock ...
