Re: Multiple approaches, approaches in icing, and a few tricks.
I agree with the first part of your rebuttal but not the second. For those operators who have the ops spec to conduct SCDA approaches part of it allows for descent below MDA to allow for the sink rate as power is applied for go around, just like conducting an ILS to mins with a go around at DH. Int...

Re: Hockey Teams Travelling
@FICU, What type a/c were you flying the Avalanche around on? I have to admit your nickname has me curious as it matches the reg of a LR35 that used to be operated by that fine company CGAA (insert sarcasm here), may they burn in hell, I mean rest in peace. Hi, 737-200. I flew ICU before *that* out...

I flew the Avalanche down to Calgary a week and a half ago after they beat Edmonton on HNIC.DA900 wrote:I did fly Colorado Avalanche from Vancouver to Edmonton then Calgary last week.

Re: Fort McMurray area airports - Question
Once cleared en-route by ATC we tell them we will will close our flight plan on the ground. ATC will, at times, give us our outbound squawk code when we are inbound. There are now preferred IFR routes into these strips from Edmonton and Albian has a SID. Beware when departing south as the YMM contro...

Re: Boeing 737 Rating Question
The way I understand it the holder of a B73A type rating but who is only trained on the SP-77 autopilot requires differences training for the SP-177 auto flight system which has auto throttles and an MCP/FMA. This training includes CBT and sim training. The B737 Classic series(300/400/500) has the s...

That Learjet carrot CGAA dangled in front of low time prop pilots has claimed many victims unfortunately.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Re: N999LJ Learjet 60 crashes on departure in SC . . .
I believe the 55 and 60 use the same airframe but the 60 has a plug to extend it so essentially the same aircraft. I had a highspeed tire problem in a Learjet 35 departing YXD years back... heard a very loud bang but continued the take-off. When we landed the tire tread had completely delaminated an...

Re: One controllers likes and dislikes. Ask about your plane.
We really need to get the whole fam flight thing started again, where we sit in the flight deck, hear your complaints and respond to them. Pilots should be encouraged to take a visit to our office as well so we can show them what works great for us and what doesn't. I have had 2 YEG ACC controllers...

Re: One controllers likes and dislikes. Ask about your plane.
I think the comment that you don't care how it impacts our job, just highlights that this is often a one way street in the pilots eyes. If I told you that I don't care how it impacts your job, I'd have a million pilots yelling at me. Having to fly an aircraft a certain way is one thing, but having ...

Re: One controllers likes and dislikes. Ask about your plane.
And this just makes me want to pay so much attention to the pilots comments in this thread regarding how I can make your job easier. Sorry if it upsets you but if I have to climb with engine anti-icing on and it gives me a sub 1000 ft/min climb there is nothing I can do about it so if it impacts yo...

Well if it's Family Guy you're hammering then... :goodman: Seriously though, don't some of the pilots wonder how their aircraft compares to the rest? Did you know that your aircraft has exceptionally poor climb performance? If we are flying machines in the FL's then we have been around for a few ye...
