Re: Manitoba Medevac
Stumbled on this thread out of curiosity since, well also stumbled into a medevac 14 on 14 off retirement gig (no joke, I got called out of the blue from a guy who knew a guy, blah blah) I have to say that you guys seem to have it rough in Manitoba sadly, over here, easy peasy. In order to NOT put p...

Re: Are people in the Airlines as miserable as those here?
No, the majority of guys I fly with are great. Many of them don't post on forums, and even if they do we talk about skiing, traveling, diving, kids and life more then how the company is screwing us over. If they want to talk about the company screwing us over, the company has a nice press reader ap...

https://lois-laws.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-96-433/page-5.html Did not click the site cuz I already know what is in there...... Basically, anything and everything. Some flight attendant or some passenger or some tc idiot does not like yer face, you will be nailed. Sad comment I know, but it...

With all respect to all, yer all missing the point. And the point is.....you still need to know how to fly a plane. These machines are now so dummy proof that pretty much any driver can operate them. Good, bad, does not matter, if you have a quarter of a brain of the average human, you can't get hur...

Re: Becoming a pilot with a DUI
We're talking dui, not major aggravated assault.
There is a difference. Dui is a bad mistake, but does not carry criminal intent with a desire to inflict harm.
You need to see the difference. Putting a dui into the same boat as a violent person is just plain wrong.

Re: Becoming a pilot with a DUI
A whole hell of alot of disinformation here... I was arrested for a dui, in my house, truck parked in the garage, 1.5 hours after, driving...... All this after a kid crashed into my rear bumper, while texting on his cellphone, in a parking lot, at 10 pm. Kid needed to justify his actions, so after c...

Re: Airport Parking Ruled a Taxable Benefit
The rules are made by politicians, and implemented by public servants. That’s a really good example of deflecting the issue: criticizing public servants as privileged and overpaid, whcich, even if true, is irrelevant to whether parking should be a taxable benefit. It’s not a personal thing, and it ...

Re: Airport Parking Ruled a Taxable Benefit
My vote....... Disgusting indeed. These rules are made by public servants with, if not fantastic, but nevertheless very high salaries with hugely generous expense accounts. Said expense accounts equal a 40 hour minumum salary job. In a job that requires minimum effort. And then they decide to screw ...

Ah yessssss........... Airplane drivers are perfect beings the likes of mother theresa who spend their off time feeding the poor and never, but never, make any sort of mistake........ever.......... Not even 0.02. Which is nothing. Not ideal, but still nothing. But the minimum wage security guy sees ...

sounds like the raic pass process has a few holes in it. RAIC program has holes you say? Isn't Canadian Aviation Security air tight!?!?! :| Passing through the ramp checkpoint charlie in YVR you get randomized and hauled out for secondary screening half the time. The vehicle gets searched as well.....

So much for transport canada. Real good at screwing the little people, not so good at catching the big fish. .Actually, zero abilities at catching the big guys.
This is classic ottawa logic.

Re: Why is multi time so important to the airlines?
Old thinking is what it is. There are jurisdictions around the world that hire zero time people, train them, and stick them into 777's in the right seat. Multiengine time is nice but not really neccessary. You will find out how a V1 cut (engine failure right after takeoff) feels like on your first f...

No conflicting opinion here. I agree.
Trouble is, the system is so $#&&ed up that it takes a rocket surgeon (sarcasm is intentional) to even track down the person who can actually issue you that piece of paper.
Cheers

Re: Canada Jetlines: It's Turn to Fly
This is canadastan, where only the big 2 write the rules. Sadly. That's the way it is comrades. That is just not true. The ULCC model will never work in this country - I've said that forever. Why.....It has nothing to do with the big 2 ruling the skies - and everything to do with demographics. Cana...

Re: Reapplying for lost radio license
Yes, it is a dumb system. The whole radio licence thing is a long forgotten thing that nobody in the "government" even knows about. Some clerk will rubber stamp a paper if you have some sort of proof that you had one. Not sure how it works now, chief flying instructors had the authority to issue the...

Re: Canada Jetlines: It's Turn to Fly
Hate to be a party pooper but many have tried, made a go of it measured in years and decades, only to ultimately fail. The list is very long. And Jetlines is only years of talk. No real substance. I wish them luck, but history is not on their side, let alone that nothing material is present. This is...

Re: Jetlines has no planes
This "airline" is nothing more than a tempest in a teapot. I have a bet with someone that it will never get off the ground. If you look back, threads here on this so called airline started in 2013 and to date haven’t completed their first revenue trip. They changed logo, colours, aircraft types not t...

No, tc did not have a hands off approach. They had high profile inspectors of the day on site, as opposed to sitting in some government cubicle. Like they do now. Contrary to the hype, many good and qualified people were doing their work as anyone would expect. And.......yes.....a horrible accident...
