Charter op requirements into the US

Post by Aeroplane17 »

Looking for info on operating under 703 or 704 charters into the US from Canada with a Canadian registered aircraft. Do you need FAA authorization? What does that process entail? Looked all over and can't find my info.
Thanks!

There is an entire set of Ops Specs that you need before operating into the US. This comes from the FAA. I don't have a link right now but will try to dig one up unless someone beats me too it. Make sure you understand what cabotage and the freedoms of flight are, they can ruin your day if not followed correctly.

You need the FAA operations specs, we deal with the Seattle FSDO. They take about a month as a rule.

Plus you need U.S. CAB (Civil Aviation board) authority, fairly easy to get under NAFTA.

Plus you'll need a U.S. customs bond.
