performance questions on lear60

Post by glass1/2full »

for the guys and gals that fly the lear60 and or XR,
is max cruise M.81 ?
is .81 the norm between 350 to 450 or do you find it more often then not when above fl 410 you are in the 0.77 to 0.79 range?

I understand depending on the flight and or range, weight of the a/c to allow it to get up above 450 etc.
whats the average Mach number you guys flight plan for, on average 1500 to 2000 miles missions ?

reason I ask, been working on a program for some time and came across some glitches with Mach limit when ISA is around -5 to -10. its putting the mach number above .81 example

ISA -10
FL 380 M.82 and TAS 453 (based on TAS chart below) NOT FROM AFM
FL 430 M.83 and TAS 447 (based on TAS chart below) NOT FROM AFM

this is what I am using for the TAS table, but trying to fix the formulas to limit Mach number when ISA is around-5 to -10 above fl400

I do not have an AFM nor do I fly the lear 60, nor do I know anyone that flies the 60 and thats why I am on here asking, i checked on line and got few different numbers
some indicate norm 0.81 max cruise which I cant tell at this point if .81 is MMO or just max Cruise. and others indicate 0.75 to 0.78 is the norm profile for 1500 to 2000 miles.

Alt, TAS, TAS, then whats 4th and 5th column ? is that burn ?

I think your biggest restriction will be weight to get up in the mid 400. most likely burn an hour or two of fuel then step climb to mid 400.

yes that is burn, for both low cruise and norm cruise

I do realize the fuel burn for weight restriction to allow to get higher, but strictly speaking speed limit only.
are you confirming that MMO is .81?
