Lear 75 just an updated 45?

Post by ScudRunner »

So found a brand spanking new Lear 75 in a hangar today, so naturally I checked it out and she looks pretty sharp. I did not get to climb into the interior as the pilots where not around but when I checked out the data plate thinking I would see a low serial number etc I had to do a double take as the Type on the data plate said 45 not 75 and had a serial number in the mid 400s. It was definitely a 75 with the markings by the door indicating and such as well as the noticeably different winglets.

So what gives I was under the impression this was a new type not just some marketing deal for a Lear 45 "NG" etc.

Are type rated pilots just given a differences course?

It's an updated 45, that's all. New cabin interior, new avionics (Garmin 5000), new winglets, and 10% more thrust.

45 typed pilots just need a differences course.

Challenger 350 is to the Challenger 300 what the Lear 75 is to the Lear 45.

interesting I am probably wrong but the fuselage looked bigger for some reason. Never flew the 45 just the 35 and 55 so im not that familiar with the type. Can't wait for the 85 I was able to check out the mock up when I was in ICT last time I know that is a brand new type for sure.

Definitely same airframe other than winglets.
