Flying after ACL reconstruction

Post by radarbeam »

I had my right ACL reconstructed and my meniscus stitched back together last november after a stupid tumble skiing. The operation was a success and I have been doing my physio religiously from day 1. Almost 3 months post-op today and I am walking like I was before. Anyone out there had the same surgery? How long before you got back to flying?

I am going in to renew my class 1 next week but I really have no idea what to expect from the Doc and TC in terms of how long it's going to take to fly again. I'm in the midst of finishing my instructor rating but can't go back up even dual before I get my medical back.

Thank you,
Radar
