Arthritis

Post by yhz41 »

Has anyone on here ever had to get a cortisone shot? I need one in my knee, I'm just wondering how transport feels about this.

You can ask your TC Doctor.

I suspect it's the same as blood pressure medication. Transport Canada doesn't have a policy on it. The FAA requires you take a week to make sure you are stabilized on a new prescription, but transport has no information available,

My mom used to get cortisone shots and had excellent results, though it did not last forever for her.

I have been fortunate that mine has always been mood so far and goes away as long as I gently use the joint affected.

I hope it helps bud,

You're welcome.

By the way that was supposed to say, "mine has always been mild so far."

I get it in my knuckles occasionally.

I don't think TC would care much one way or the other about joint cortisone injections.

I dont see how it could imperil your safety in the air.

Beef, Is it possible you could have gout?

Useful to check that if not already done.

It is helpful in preventing the inflammation which helps in treating the pain. It take six weeks to six months to completely suppress the pain. It should be done carefully in order to prevent cartilage or nerve damage. Tendon weakening is also the side effect of improper cortisone shot.
