Ear Problems

Post by capt.k »

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced ear problems after several years of flying.
In the last few years I have had several ear infections, one leading to a ruptured ear drum, and several sinus infections. I am not really satisfied with the answers from both my family doc and my CAME.

Has anyone had tubes put in as an adult and does it have any effect on your medical.
Any other solutions. Thanks for any info

Hey, Capt.k, what's that you said?

Speak up man! I can hardly hear you...

Other than the obvious creeping hearing loss that all of us eventually share, what you are describing may have little to do with flying, imho.

You are describing serious ENT disease, which though easily aggravated by flying. likely has a root cause that lies elsewhere.

Because you have had serous complications, such as a ruptured ear drum and chronic sinus infections, it would be easy to point in the direction of your sinuses as the nesting place of your ailment.

The question is, what is the cause?
I have no idea, and there is no point in pontificating around Googled shmarts just to hear the clicking of the keyboard, But a visit to an ENT specialist should be in the cards sooner rather than later to make some sinus of it.

I am sure that we will all be interested in an update in the near future.

Be serious.I think its not simple problem. If you are not satisfied with your family doctor you must contact with another specialist doctor. Then you can see whats the problem of your ear.

Ive had many ear issues/infections and damn near blew my ears more times then Im comfortable with. Read my thread above, it may apply. I had chronic sinus issues that always lead to ears plugging up among other fun goodies. Either way your long past time to get into a good ENT.

ENT specialist, is an ear, nose and throat specialist... I once had a girlfriend who could treat illness with her tong but it only lead to more head aches!
