Okay, maybe I should have said "another" Mallard.

I was specifically hinting at the substantial price tag, and correlating it to what i'm sure was a substantial price tag for that extraction.

a flying mallard for sale is a rare item so chances of finding a replacement is difficult at best..

the cost of recovery was approximately 25% of the insured value so it was a not an issue for the underwriter.. as mentioned earlier even if it was written off, the underwriter would still be responsible to remove it..
