Seems it was a Cirrus. No chute?

Report says pilot Ken McKenzie is ex-Canadian military pilot. Anyone knows or remembers when and where Ken worked in the CF?
Re: VP of Airbus USA in small aircraft crash
I'll admit it would surprise me too. A friend of mine ended up upside down with a fuel tank leaking a couple years ago and was stuck in the cockpit for 5 minutes with a master on that he couldn't reach. Didn't catch fire but he still has nightmares about it. Even after that, during the two forced approaches I practiced this year I really wasn't thinking what would I do if it caught fire after touchdown. Think I'll run another practice egress with my wife and make sure we've got everything set up to get out in a hurry if we have to.I was surprised. I didn’t expect the plane to catch fire. I was surprised that there were flames and the aircraft was really really warm.

He's also the former vp of Westjet. I'm glad he's alright. I wish he and his wife a speedy full recovery.
