After 8pm? I can't remember if there's PAPI/VASI lights at Olds-Didsbury, but the ol' black hole illusion may have been at play by the sounds of it.

C-FCJK, a Piper PA-28-180 aircraft operated by the Olds Didsbury Flying Association, was on a local flight from Olds/Didsbury, AB (CEA3). C-FCJK was conducting touch and go landings during the hours of darkness. Three circuits were completed and during final approach for the last landing, approximately 800 feet from the Rwy 28 threshold, the aircraft contacted power lines. Airport power was lost and the runway lighting extinguished. C-FCJK landed uneventfully. The pilot, sole occupant, was uninjured; C-FCJK received damage to the propeller, windscreen and vertical stabilizer.
