Crash in Hawk Junction - 11JUL

Post by Lotro »

Via @JairusCTV on Twitter:
BREAKING: A plane has crashed in Hawk Junction, just outside of Wawa, Ontario. No word on the condition of the pilot and/or passengers. The @OPP_NER are currently on site. @CTVNewsNorthern is on the way there.
The rumours I'm hearing are bad.

Seems to be a beaver:
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) has confirmed to SooToday that there has been a plane crash in Hawk-Junction, Ont. just outside of Wawa.

The plane was a de Haviland Canada DHC-2 Beaver. TSB has stated that they are deploying investigators, who will arrive on the site tomorrow.

Ontario Provincial Police are currently on site, but have not released any details.

As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship

Anyone else notice the left elevator is missing? Wonder if it’s with the crash site or a few hundred feet away

Not much detail......

C-FBBG, a float-equipped De Havilland DHC-2 Beaver operated by Hawk Air (705833 Ontario
Ltd.), collided with terrain shortly after departure from Hawk Junction Water Aerodrome (CNH6) at
approximately 0900 EDT. The aircraft was destroyed, the two occupants were fatally injured. There
was no post-crash fire. The TSB deployed three investigators to the site.
