AC emergency
AIR CANADA BOEING 767 RETURNING TO MADRID AIRPORT FOR EMERGENCY LANDING AFTER PART OF LANDING GEAR FELL OFF AND ENTERED IN ENGINE - SPAIN´S MAIN PILOTS UNION
Re: AC emergency
I hate people.
Burn off fuel, brief the pax, allow them to put everything they need in their pockets"passport drugs etc..... stow everything allow them to call family"its all ok, I'll call you on the ground, love ya honey, etc, get everybody calmed down........ Also allows all emergency services on the ground to have ducks in a row, ambulance, fire, buses to get them to terminal or triage area, etc.......this will hopefully be a none issue

Re: AC emergency
That was the best part of CBC News coverage!!!!
I really liked how she went thru her notes to finally say that...
Since I’m flying the King Air, does that qualify me to fly the Queen of the skies?

Re: AC emergency
Always wondering why there were two gear levers in the cockpit, haha
I wonder if the crew remembered to wear their deice boots, flying to Canada in the winter and all
Maybe the winter tires weren't designed for the Madrid heat

Re: AC emergency
Had a reporter use those exact words in reference to having a gear issue on my way home this summer. It’s not a localized event it seems haha.

What was the sequence here? Tire debris blew forward and was ingested by #1?

Re: AC emergency
No need for a "push- back" if the A/C has back-up LG !!!That’s only for push backs.
BTW, Have you ever heard how loud the back-up horn is on an A/C when they do that ?

Re: AC emergency
That appears to have been the case - tire debris could travel in almost any direction with a great deal of energy.atc_is_god wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2020 12:37 pm What was the sequence here? Tire debris blew forward and was ingested by #1?
Always fly a stable approach - it's the only stability you'll find in this business
Re: AC emergency
Can these 767s dump fuel? I’m going to assume they couldn’t as they held for hours?

It’s a crappy way to explain to the public that thanks to dual wheels you can land and taxi in without every passenger being killed or worse. I expect the news agencies were told there are redundancies on every system of a modern airliner, including the wheels.

Re: AC emergency
Well, the 67 has two wheels on the nose and four per side on the mains.lownslow wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2020 6:07 pmIt’s a crappy way to explain to the public that thanks to dual wheels you can land and taxi in without every passenger being killed or worse.
