Pakistan International Airlines
Finally some sanity regarding PIA. These clowns also need to be banned from Canadian airspace and airports. Surely the citizens of Pakistan deserve better.

Re: Pakistan International Airlines
I would expect more countries to follow the EASA example this week.
I believe the real issue is PIA's continued failure to implement any kind of SMS/FOQA system. Hard to believe any Airline doesn't have this in place.
Hard to believe they have IOSA certification - but they do.

Re: Pakistan International Airlines
I once heard a PIA pilot give YYZ approach hell because the controller was giving out an altimeter setting of 30.02” and the ATIS was showing 30.00”. The controller kept his cool, but the pilot would not let it go...imagine flying with that level of arrogance and ignorance.

Re: Pakistan International Airlines
Way back 73-74 doing my CPL at MFC, there were students from Pakistan there same time. Not bad chaps, their English was quite good however they did like to partake in the drink , chase Moncton/Dieppe girls with success mind you. They didn’t seem to take flying training all that serious at times as couple took well over a yr to complete PPL to CPL from what we heard. The theme in casual conversation and beer is that they had a job waiting for them back in Pakistan regardless how they made out here. Perhaps that theme continues to this present time, who knows. Sure is scary though from a travelling public prospective if what in the media is correct.

Having lived and flown in the Region - I've experienced it all firsthand.
There are plenty of decent, honest people in the region who are just as disgusted as all of us by this state of affairs. The system is rigged against anyone honest ever getting into a position where they have the power to make real change.
The only thing that surprises me is that there aren't more accidents...

Looks like some house cleaning going on....

Expect PIA will be a Regional Airline by the end of the coming week. If they were smart they would have voluntarily suspended International Operations already.

On top of everything else....
https://simpleflying.com/pia-missing-flight-attendant/
Not the first time this as happened or even the first time this has happened in Toronto!
Of course the real question is - why is PIA still allowed to fly to Canada?
Pakistan actively challenging the EU ban - gives an idea of the level of arrogance and cognitive dissonance that exists within the Government there.

Re: Pakistan International Airlines
PIA is already banned from the US due to security concerns, but the silence from our government on this issue is hard to comprehend, although not surprising.Woe be to them if PIA were to have an incident on our soil.

US finally takes action:-

My guess is they will be banned in Canada as well - should have happened already imho.

Re: Pakistan International Airlines
They should be banned here but our government doesn’t care about such things. They haven’t even enacted the new duty regs. They probably see it as hundreds of potential liberal voters to welcome in.

Re: Pakistan International Airlines
There are few joys in Pakistan , that is why their food is so good . Their spices are some of the best . If you have ever enjoyed spicey tasty food Pakistan is Nirvana
Ran out of them so I have buy Indian spices , oh well beggers cannot be choosers .
Although a good Tex-Mex roadhouse barbeque is just as worthy a contribution to the planet .

Mother India won the best Indian Restaurant in the World award and it is in Glasgow .
My first taste of Pakistan food was a meal cooked by a Pakistani housemates mother in Georgia . It was as good as that
His Dad was a director of 36 companies with ties to the Zia Government . One of those companies brought Pakistan into the Nuclear club . Small world eh .
