A bad day?
Perhaps I'm not 'reading' your tone correctly, but to me, a bad day is something that happens to me, through unforeseen random things cropping up and gnawing a chunk out of my a$$.
VFR at night in marginal VFR, or IFR, with only a roadmap, no winter gear, and being under the effects of cocaine isn't just a 'bad day' - it's nothing short of stupidity!

I'm with North Shore, a bad day is when a well prepared pilot is flying and the weather was supposed to be 3000' everywhere and it drops to 500', or when the wx at your destination and alternate both crap out on an IFR flight. Or you loose an engine on one side and the generator from the other then your on just battery power... thats a bad day, this kid was retarded things like that contribute to the high insurance costs of aircraft.

To be out of place and perhaps speak to Check Pilot's post .... you'll recall the very popular movie "Airplane!" Where Llyod Brydges played the part of an ATC type who dealt with the stressful crisis of having Stryker fly the aircraft by turning to chemical stimulants.

The first is to light up a smoke .... and he comments "I guess I picked the wrong day to quit smoking."
